It has been an enjoyable couple of weeks since I last updated.
Thanksgiving was good, and full of family, games, good food and naps. I finally braved the crowds and went out on Wednesday (I usually avoid the night before Thanksgiving) and ended up having a great time. I went to an advertising party with an open bar to start the night (thank the lord for open bars...I can finally order kettle one!) and then headed to Gracie's for some martinis. I managed to drop my ID somewhere between the two places, and walked around in the rain for a half hour searching for it. When I returned to the bar wet and cold and ID-less my friends made up for it by buying me many many cocktails. Thank you friends. We ended up at Luna to end the night and danced with my new friend Matt.
New friend Matt is great. I met him at Luna and we found a ridiculous amount of things in common. We've become instant buds in 0-60. Friday I went with him and his girlfriend's brother Brian, and her cousin Adam to go see Walking With Dinosaurs at Cobo. The whole thing was very cool and the dinosaurs blew my mind. They were so realistic and lifelike. I sat there with my jaw dropped. The T-Rex literally scared the pants off me! I think I was a 7 year old boy I would be ALL about that show. Nothing would have been cooler.
Saturday Ellen, Katie and I went to the DIA. It just reopened so it was free to the public all weekend, and as expected it was PACKED. We met up with my friends Louis and Sam, walked around a few galleries, and then grabbed lunch in Greek town. It was the perfect Saturday afternoon.
I put my Christmas tree up this week. Its such a Charlie Brown tree. Half of the lights blink and I don't know why, there is a popcorn garland on half of it (it takes a long time to string popcorn!!) and the ornaments are made out of pipe cleaners and construction paper. It definitely has character.
I'm looking forward to my week off at Christmas. My mind has been so jumbled lately that I can't even sit and properly think of what presents I would like to give this year. Every time I start making a list, I just start thinking about something else. I need to decompress.
In baby news...it should be here any day now. My sister is SO ready to get on with it, and the rest of the family has been on baby-watch for about a week. I can't wait to meet the newest addition to our family.
