[Torn's life is consumed by the library these days. Fortunately, he has spiders to clean up after him and Jak (the capybara) to bring him food, which means he really only goes back to his pod to sleep. Which he doesn't do often.
He's learned a lot about a lot of things, like how power works without Eco (interesting. bizarre, but interesting), how to shear sheep, and how to cycle crops. The last two is particularly good, because it means he no longer sounds like an idiot when he asks the local farmers questions.
What he still can't figure out, though, is this book he's been trying to read. He managed puzzle out how to read Common (a useful skill), but the text in this book by Temben doesn't look like any of the languages in any of the books he's seen lying around the library. Time to call in some outside help.]
