So after a few weeks of on again off again research, I almost bought my new digital camera today.
Looking damn hard at the Canon S3 IS.
I tend to be brand loyal once I find something I like, and the 3-4 years ago when I went through a month of research I determined Canon was the best to go.
Pros:
Standard Canon full user controls

Image Stabilization
Rotating LCD
Manual Focus
Optional add on lenses
Non-proprietary batteries
Cons:
At just under 3bills slightly more than I want to spend
Larger than your Cybershot or pocket camera
LCD size and resolution not quite what one would like
Talk me off the ledge or push me over. Your choice.
