something something

Sorry guys! It’s been more than two weeks since I last updated here! There are a couple of reasons:
1. I took my laptop for repairs ‘cause the DVD burner wasn’t doing any burning or reading.
2. Work’s been taking up my time you see.
3. Finally, laziness, that’s always a factor when it comes to me!

Well. Two weeks of crazy weather. For quite a few days in a row, rain in the morning, clearing later, then the sun full blast and everything is dry by early evening. How weird is that? I look at the outside all day long, thinking that it’ll once again be a pain driving home in the rain, then everything clears up! But after some unseasonably warm weather for autumn, it finally feels like autumn, a little. When there’s a breeze, it’s actually cool wind blowing, not warm wind. And the nights and evenings are definitely cooler, great! Of course this also means the car isn’t an oven by the time I leave work.

Speaking of work. I’ve been here for more than two weeks now. Originally this role was for two, three weeks. Now it looks like it’s an ongoing thing as the company has yet to find somebody to take the full time reception role, and they’re happy with the work I’m doing. They won’t offer the role to me though, not that I suck or something, it’s just that they know this isn’t the direction that I want to pursue. They know that ultimately I want to get into the financial industry, while this is an IT company.

End of last week I submitted two job applications for full time positions. There ended up being two interviews for three jobs. One recruitment consultant literally called me back straight away after I sent through my resume. I went to the interviews after work yesterday, and they told me that they’re surprised that I haven’t been snapped up by anybody since my qualifications are good and I have great skills all round. Yeah, tell me about it, before those two interviews yesterday, it was sooooo dry, everything I applied to were either ignored, or replied with some rejection letter template. But now hopefully after meeting these new consultants who seem to be a lot more helpful and think that I am a great sell to their clients. Although I did receive a call this morning about one of those role most likely being filled by another person, I don’t really mind. That was the least attractive ones that were on the table, I don’t like that company. It’s for an entry level role and they want everybody to go through the same annoying, money-wasting process. They told me that the process would probably take about three weeks, then they might offer the job. I’d say, no thanks, I don’t think you’re that great a company, and I seriously don’t think making me do hours worth of testing just to get a data entry role is worth it. You think you’re so great, but you’re not. With that same phone call, I was informed that I got an interview with an employer in a few days’ time. That company I haven’t really heard of, but I’d like to start small. I’ll have to do more research on that company, at the moment, all I know is the name, and I don’t think that’s enough….

Well. It’s ten minutes until I get off work, and I think spending the last twenty minutes or so doing this is a good enough break for me, back to folding invoices and stuffing them into envelops!
