My newest craft obsession.

I'm a big fan of low-maintenance, low-supply, pick-up-put-down crafts. My stamp carving is a good example - you buy yourself a carving tool, some rubber/erasers and a stamp pad and you're set. There's none of this 15 pair of pliers business, or different wire and thread and fabric and fabric and fabric and fabric (not that I'm not a huge fan of ( Read more... )

LOL! Love this! I love you being in stealth mode in the car having a go at needle felting. :D Good luck with your next piece. I'm working on a giraffe at the moment...it's the biggest thing i've made so far but he's coming along beautifully.

I've dabbled a bit in needle felting, and never thought of holding little things down with a pin! Thanks for that :) Next time I felt, my fingers will thank you for the reduction in stabbiness.

Looking forward to seeing your next project! Fibre is fantastic :)

If there's a way to hurt yourself while crafting, I will find it. So I often need to come up with creative solutions to avoid this!

I tell everyone who is interested in starting needle felting that it's great, you'll love it... but make sure you're up to date on your tetanus shots first...

Luckily you don't need to put a lot of force behind your stabs so if you miss you don't poke yourself hard but still... those things are pointy! (and to tell you the truth I cut myself with the seam ripper more than I stab myself with the felting needle anyway, heheh)

I've always wondered how needle felting is done. Love your writing about indulging in your wool straight away, it made me laugh.

Wow, I'd like to just live in that studio I think! Thanks for sharing the link.

And yeah it's like roast chickens never make it home 100% whole from the shopping centre. They're best when they're all hot and juicy! I have problems with my patience I think...
