I'd rather sew in a zipper using only my feet than come up with a subject line.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and support. I'm doing better now, but still prone to break into tears every time I look over at where their cage used to be (I had to pack up their things that day, so I wasn't seeing reminders of them everywhere). I almost feel guilty grieving, you know? Like, I shouldn't be crying; they're just pets.

So these pretty badges you can now make with your super badge machine... would you consider doing commercial designs?
Examples:

Also something that says 'Morpheme Addict'.
Our student association has been throwing some ideas about badges around recently, in a reckless, maybe-maybe-not sort of way, so I thought I would ask you.

Would I ever! I love playing with the badgerermakerer machine, I just need an excuse! It's so addictive >_>

Hurrah! How much would you charge for such designs? And how many could you do? We would need to resell at a slightly higher price to justify the expenditure...

Well if I was selling my buttons, I would sell them for $2 retail. So $1 for you and then you can sell them for $2 and make a profit?

I have about 80 shells I can make-up, but to account for defects maybe... 60 buttons?

Does that still give you an acceptable profit?

Oh, and they have pins on right?

Yep. They're 1.25" but visually they look the same as the 1 inch to me.

Well considering I just bought the buttons to play with, it covers the cost of them with a little bit toward buying some new ones so it's fine by me! Plus I'd like to help out :)

Nice! I will have to consult my committee (hee!) but so I have all the information, how long would it take once I confirmed with you to have them all?

1-2 days I would think. I've never made that many before but I feel confident I can have 'em done in 1-2 days if I sat down and press-press-pressed.

And dude, I want a committee to consult.

I kind of do have one, but they're small, black and furry and their answers usually revolve around "Do I get a schmako out of this?"

I want THAT sort of committee!
1-2 days is awesome. One last (I hope) question - if we wanted a few different designs within that 60, would that make a difference to costing?

Naw, it'd all be the same. Cause basically I just print 'em out and cut out the design so it doesn't actually matter WHAT'S printed on them, y'know?

You still live near me, right? You can come pick 'em up or I can drop 'em off or whatever when I'm done, too.

I do indeed! Just in Mitcham.
The treasurer thinks it's a good idea. Once I've got the secretary's OK (I'm pretty sure I can get it), I will get them to decide on a few different mottos and/or pics with me, then I will let you know. That way maybe we can sell them at our Speech Pathology table this week at uni! I have friended you on Facebook, and I will send you an invite to our end of week movie charity event, so you can see what it's all about (and maybe come along...?)

Me? Develop a social life? Knitting was a big step - this is HUGE!

Hehe, sounds good. Due to aforementioned lack of social life I am on the intertube nearly all day so just email me or Facebook me or whatever the kids these days do, when you're ready :)

*Grins* It's a movie. That means minimal social interaction, but all the kudos of being out and about. Anyway, no pressure. We would love to see you there, but I am just glad you are happy to help us out with badges.
I have sent you an FB invite. :)

Hurrah, I have the approbation of the executive of my committee! We have decided on two different badges, thirty of each.
The first one we would like to be like the one I linked to before: http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/photo.php?pid=990409&op=2&o=all&view=all&subj=9605038180&aid=-1&oid=9605038180&id=515442441
The text can be rearranged or the colours redone if you wish, but the lettering needs to stay the same, as it is in the international phonetic alphabet.
"aɪ #<3# spitʃ pəθɑlədʒi"
The second one we would like to say "Morpheme Addict", in whatever colour combination and font you choose! If an appropriate image comes to mind, let me know, but we are fine with just text. :)
Does this sound OK?
