Phew!

I'm gonna be posting this everywhere, so sorry f-list peoples. I will put the photos behind a cut so you're not spammed too much, but this sucker took me about 2 weeks of blood, sweat, and tears (that explains why one of the corners was soggy, Nick. Sorry...) so I want to show it off!

So without further ado, here it is...

Oh la la..

A close up of the embroidery. Let's all pretend it's not wonky. Best pretender gets a prize!

Audio and video outlets.

The power switch and... uh... two other pretty coloured outlets.

The controller, with comically oversized buttons.

Whee, action shot!

Crafted from polar fleece, various quantities of felt, embroidery thread, and foam inserts cut to size (AND I came away unscathed after the cutting process!).

I would really love to make more of these, but considering the time involved and the amount of materials, I think they're going to have to be a commission-only thing *hint hint*. Although I do have plans to try a GameBoy, soon! One of the old chunky ones because I'm not game enough (bad pun! I probably should have said masochistic enough) to try creating a flip lid like the DS's have.

And now onto something that a few of you might remember from an old WIP Wednesday in my old journal (before I forcibly split the two sides of my life into two journals):

The cover for my sketch book / ideas book!

The back cover:
(In future versions I need to adjust the positioning so that I don't have that blank space to the left side there. It was supposed to finish close to the edge, oops.)

And the full spread.

I feel I should mention that when I was buying the material (just a cotton), it looked a lot more green in the store's light. More like an olive green rather than the camel brown it turned out to be. Oh well! Still not horrible, but I'm not really a brown kind of girl. I've padded it with a cotton wadding / batting, and I sewed (is that a word? Is now!) in a cardboard stabiliser from a Sultana Bran packet to help keep its shape.
