Booties for adults!

As some of you may or may not know, I have a DeviantArt account. I first joined there... god... ages ago now. It lay mostly dormant for many years (there's a few of my digital paintings up there for those among you who might be interested, but I never really painted much to begin with) until I discovered that I loved to sew and wanted to show off my creations (and hadn't yet discovered Flickr!)

I still use it for the community, the clubs, and because there's SO much gorgeous art over there. Recently I hit 2000 pageviews, which is a huge deal for me, so I offered up a kiriban prize for lucky number 2000th. The winner was Isilian, and she asked for a pair of Zelda-themed slippers. I was very excited! This seemed like such a fantastic project.

It took me a while but they're finally done now. I choose Windwaker Link because I think his style suits embroidery better than Ocarina Link.

Outer and lining is microfleece (nope, never going to stop loving that stuff) and quilted in between is a comfysoft layer of pure wool batting. These slippers are snuggly. The triforce is felt, hand-appliqued. actually, both slippers are 100% hand-sewn, hand-appliqued, hand-embroidered.

The puff paint grip dots came out much, much better with brand new paint and it was both fun and a little creepy to watch them puff up under the hairdryer.

Hopefully these guys fit her and she loves them as much as I loved making them! I might have to make myself a pair sometime...
