Going out in a Blaze of Glory

Arena hates me, really it does. We start to do well and kablooey, we hit a losing streak or something. I'd used most of my points and had as much of a resto set as I was likely to get, so there wasn't much left to do but spend my 3400 points on *something* since last night was the last night, and rumor had it that the points would be gone today too. Now my 3v3 team rating was 1603...but my personal rating was 1592. So we were going to play just one more game so I could get my feral BP. All well and good...the players being me, mostly kitteh druid, my favorite prot/ret pally and hubby as disc priest.

Read all about it!

Game 1: a few seconds after it starts, Pally DC's, leaving a squishy bear and priest to get smushed...yay, lost 14 points.

Game 2: OMG, it's Oakblade's team! Oakblade is my scary leet PvPing guildleader. And he's got that *ideal* team...MS Warrior, Resto Shaman, and mage. I'm already QQing, but we rip into the shaman, and he made the mistake of jumping down away from the others...we got him. Sadly, that left hubby to the not so tender mercies of the mage and warrior, and they got him! My GL jumps on me, so I went bear to just try to stay up a little longer. Totally forgot my last stand new ability, bleah. So I bung him up a little and expire (Third to die, a new record in a good way!) but paladin took the mage out a couple of seconds later, leaving Ret pally and MS warrior to duke it out from 3/4 health.

WE WON! That one shining moment of glory makes a lot of the horrible arenas disappear :-) GL commended us in /gc. We cowardly waited a minute to requeue ;-) But we were still 5 points out, so queue we did.

Game 3: Routine! I got my Brutal chestpiece and gloves to take with me to Northrend. Not a bad way to go out :-)

After that, we'd been hearing rumors that Stormwind was under attack...by Frostwyrms. So we went to investigate, and sure enough, there was a swarm of said Wyrms and a passel of Stiches' big cousins infesting the harbor area. The server turned out in force, and the attack was eventually driven back. I heard on the Horde side, Thrall was being challenged to an honor match with some scion of Grom Hellscream. O.o

Silly achievement of the night: It's Happy Hour Somewhere

Altitis: Got the shaman/warrior to 52.5. We tried to do AV to get the IBS for hubby...4 games later we gave that up as a bad rap. But we completed some of the quests - enough to take us from 51 to the aforementioned 52.5. We headed off into Un'Goro for a bit of XP and there were camped when it was arena time.

Silly Hubby: He has wanted a black tabby cat, which is by all acounts a pain to get for horde, and Alliance quadruply so. He's been trying to level the horde bank alt to camp it...camping it on our old horde server with the plan to transfer a char to VeCo with it should he get lucky...anyway, I found Timmy the other night, and more to the point, found a horde willing to trade me a black tabby for it - so I was going to wrap it up and send it as his "Welcome to Northrend" present. Arranging the trade was the easy part...getting this trade accomplished was hard, since hubby and I play at the same times and in the same room. So the other night I got the kitten to our BB AH alt while he showered, but my trade person was not on. The next night they were, so I logged in the BB alt...and kitten was nowhere to be found. I KNEW I had pulled it out of the mailbox! I wondered....I logged into the Org bank alt...nope, not in his mailbox either. So I checked auctions on the AH...he had the kitten up on the horde AH. Rolling my eyes, I pulled it off auction and made the trade, but didn't get it shipped back to the BB alt before he came back.

Well, he logged the Org alt in...went to check his auctions...noticed no kitten. He checked the mailbox...no kitten or $$. I'm sitting there with my head in my hands. He notices the cat carrier in inventory, and finds that it's a black tabby. I hit him at that point, and told him good job ruining the suprise ;-) Though I guess it was still a suprise, but I was going to present it more elegantly than that :P
