The Accidental Wanna-be loot whore
Our newly returned (resurrected?) Healy priest isn't so much into the PvPs, so our group has been turning some of our attention back to the PvE game. (Mind you, he's running them with us, but he makes no bones that he'd rather instance, so we, wanting to be all things to all people, are accomodating) We polish off our 5s (bad week!) and run a BG or three to get hubby's rogue enough honor for his trinket. And then we go "Hey yeah, lets do a Heroic!" The Daily is Old Hillsbrad, the thought of which makes me want to stick a fork in my eye. But our Pally says they've nerfed it, so he'll respec prot for us and away we go.
Only two people in the group were Revered, and one of them was digging out his Prot gear and talking to the trainer about a respec. So the holy priest is languishing in the desert while we try to get there. A horde guild was camping Menethil Harbor and had killed the flightmaster. Having been forewarned by hubby, who had just stealthed by them on his rogue, I was sitting on the boat on my mount, and dashed through them (yes, leaving the unmounted to their fate) and hung out by the flightmaster spot till he came back. We got enough people to summon the rest, went down, and hubby, who was on his rogue, realized he wasn't even honored with KoT (Never done BM) so he didn't have the heroic key. There followed shuffling while he put the rogue away and brought the PvP specced shadow priest. Then had to port back and pick up the mana biscuits off the rogue and get re-resummoned. Then the shaman forgot to get the daily and had to hearth to get it. So: 45 minutes later, we zoned in.
Yes, they mega nerfed it. It's actually...not so bad now. Now we did have a high geared paladin, a good healer, and the well geared if not properly specced S-Priest, but Briaja and the shaman are not so well equipped. I just have memories of this zone *kicking our ass* every previous visit. Still. The first boss dropped hunter mail, which while not better than my PvP helm, would be better than my current PvE helm. I asked if I could have it, but the pally had needed it already to DE. I needed against him and lost. The second boss had hunter mail pants, which were an upgrade from the hunter mail pants he drops in normal mode. So I asked if I could have them, and got them! Yay. On to the last boss....who dropped purple hunter (or enh sham?) pants and a AP/res gem. So um....yeah, I needed the pants, greeded the gem, and got both.
Hai! Everything is hunter loot! (Ok, the dagger and the ring the final boss had got DE'd, and I won one of the shards too - I'd like to think it was the one from the helm I didn't win!)
I was home for lunch today and guess what the daily is? Yep: OH again, heh. Maybe we can run it again and get the helm? I promise to pass on everything else *grin*
