London town!

So once again its been a while since I've updated. I've been in London for the last month and a half. Its been excellent, I got a volunteer position at the Ragged School Museum in the East End. I teach kids about how kids lived in the East End during Victorian times. Its rather amusing, consider one I knew nothing about it till I got there, and two I'm American so when I open my mouth the kids all look at me like "What is this crazy American doing telling us about living in London". Oh well, I'm actually really enjoying it, and I even got a compliment from one of the teachers who said that the American girl was really good and that the kids really liked me. Its funny...I always said I didn't like kids, and now I spend three months out of my year working at camp, and the next three months voluntarily teaching them.
Lets see...the rest of London has been good. I've been taking Scottish Dancing lessons on Wednesday nights, its been awesome, all we do the whole time is jump around and laugh at each other. Its also really good exercise, which is good cause its way too expensive for me to join a gym and the dance classes are free. Afterward a couple of us go to the pub in the building and buy a few pints and talk. I've met a nice guy named James, he's my dancing partner (he's the only guy who's not creepy, old, or already taken). He's lovely and doesn't expect anything from me...which is good considering I'm obviously taken. He's got a free ticket to the Royal Opera House on Wednesday and he asked me to come with him...I get to dress up and be all fancy, and so what if I fall asleep during the opera, it will be fun regardless.
School has been good, we had our first big paper due last week, and we should get it back this Tuesday, I'm a bit nervous cause I didnt spend as much time on it as a few kids did but I think I put as much effort into it as I needed. Oh well, we shall see.
On the Eric front, things are going really well...we're actually managing this long distance thing, so far anyways. It is getting a bit frustrating trying to figure out how he's getting over here. He hasn't bought a ticket or gotten his passport, I dont know how he's going to manage it. I'd be find if he just said he wasn't coming but he wont, so I keep planning and he keeps having things come up. Even if he does end up here I have to figure out how we're going to rent a car. He'll only be 24 which means we'll have to pay a fee, and alot of places wont let you use a foreign license if your under 25. Ugh...oh well, at least we have free housing with my moms timeshare, and I've bought us tickets to ice skate at Somerset House, which will be incredibly romantic, if he ever gets over here.
Well thats really about it, I've been hanging out with Lilly (from FPC) quite a bit, she's excellent. I'm going out with her whole family for karaoke next Saturday, that should be ridiculous.
If anyone wants to call me and has Skype I'd love to hear from you, my name is lya.gardner (ingenious, I know) and its free, so call me and if I'm not around leave a message just dont forget about the time difference (8 hours from AZ, and 5 hours from NJ). <3
