Aw, shitmonkeys! I didn't write yesterday. I totes could have, too. Anyways, the trip went well.

My chances of getting into film school at Chapman are tripled. Behind the cut is a really long telling of what happened.

it went great. i had a nice interview at pomona. but they have like 5000 applicants and only take less than 25%, so i feel like i'm not going to get in. and i can't garuntee i would go there anyway, just because it's so selective and everyone would be smarter than me and i would be over my head. but i don't know. they have really good food.

at chapman i'm applying for film school, and we just decided to visit becuase there was a little "conference" thing going on. they don't do application interviews, but since there were only two other kids signed up for this conference thing, the lady at the desk said it would really be to my benifit to go. it's supossed to be a Q & A session for kids who are thinking about applying to ask questions about the school, but since it's so late in the game, all us kids already knew all about the school. there was one girl who wanted to apply for transfer into the film school's PR and advertising major, and one boy my age who was applying film production, i think. and the admissions officer who talked to us went to chapman as a student and had graduated as a film major only a few years back. so all we talked about the whole time was the film school.

turns out they only take about 7% of their film school applicants! but the admissions guy really liked all of us, and got us lots of information, and we talked about who was reading our applications, etc. now, i finished my application for chapman back in november, before the early action deadline. (early action is not binding for the student, so it's not like early decision at most schools. EA is highly recommended for film school applicants. it'd be rare to get in if you didn't apply EA because the film school admissions board takes a really long time) but i didn't turn in the application for chapman because i hadn't finished the film school suppliment application. it's basically like doing two different applications. we thought they both had to be turned in at the same time,a n they basically do... but we ended up submitting the cahpan U app online last week, and sending in the film school part separately because it can't be done online. I realized all too late that we could've done the chapman early actiona nd sent the film school part in the next couple of weeks. well, i finished the last part of the film school app the night before we went to chapman, and we turned it in by hand.

we were talking about all this with the admissions guy and the boy that was applying (he got HIS in early action), and the app guy was like, "i'll take a look at your app later and i'll see what i can do." he told us that they wouldn't look at the early action chapman apps until january 15th or something, and then they'd pass them on to the film school guys. so i guess he really liked me or something, because after the meeting we all went back tot he admissions office, and he got some information and gave his card to the others, and then he MOVED MY APPLICATION TO THE EALRY ACTION PILE. i can't believe he did that, and i don't know why, but that was so incredibly nice of him, because my application is really good and by moving it he like, tripled my chances of getting in. i'm feeling really positive about my chapman application.

SWEET JESUS i'm so excited though, and i'll learn if i got in sooner than normal. i can't wait to find out!

Yeah, so yesterday I was about to write in my LJ and then watch the new CSI when Caleb asked me "Can Joel and I come over?" and of course I wasn't gonna say no. We sat around and talked for a while in the hallway, and then I wanted to go outside and sit on the trampoline because it's the best place to hang out, but it was all wet. So caleb and I got all wet on it, and then we went to dinner at Jensen's, which is the diner at the truck stop. Sarah and I didn't eat (that's a lie, actually, I had apple pie a la mode) because we had pizza for dinner, but Joel and Caleb did. And we ran into Abby there, so she had tea and we had fun. Then we all went to Caleb's house were we sat around and took quizzes on the computer, and other fun stuff. Then Joel took us home. It was all very nice.

Before all that, I took Damsy to work in the thrift shop. I just sat in the car and read. THen we spent an hour and a half at WalMart. I bought my mommy some silver candle sticks and myself some eye shadow and lipgloss and nail polishes and a pack of cute little red "party tubs" with snowflakes on them that kind fo resemble ice cream dishes. Also, we spent a lot of money at the little toy machines outside the door, and Damsy won a teddy bear from the claw machine.

Then last night after we got home, we wanted to watch the new CSI. But my Uncle Tim's brother Joe was visiting (a nice man. also very funny, like my Uncle) and so he was sleeping on the couch. So we watched Chocolat on DVD in my room on my compy, and Damsy took caps (she had a lot of fun with that) for icon making. I ate chocolate and tried to work on cleaning my room. I picked stuff up off the floor, and put away shoes and purses and clothes and jackets, but it didn't make a visual difference.

Tomorrow, before dance, we're going to see Brokeback Mountain with our dance girls. Hopefully.
