I love how politicians smile when they disagree with one another during debates. How it looks so civilized but if you listen and watch closely, it is the same way kids argue. Kind of. I guess that instead of smiling, my kids would be "WHAAAAAT? OH NO YOU DIDN'T! LISTEN TO ME NOW, BIZZAH!" and if you stripped away the social niceties, that's pretty much what I imagine these debates would be like. (My kids last year - not really my kids this year. (I had to talk to a little girl who just moved down from the south side of Chicago and got in trouble for getting into it with another girl. I told her "the kids here don't know Tough like you know Tough." (She laughed and said "that is no secret...") "They think they know Tough and unfortunately, you have to keep that in mind every time they try to tease you or even look at you sideways." She was sobbing and shaking in the dean's office when I met her. When I said goodbye we were laughing. It was a seriously busy day.))
