Summery: A new magic act comes to town. Seung hyun, the local magical talent and ex con-artist, is blown away by Miss. Kwon Jiyong's act, one that appears to bring spirits back and make psychic predictions. Too bad he's missing the biggest and best trick Miss. Kwon Jiyong's has, well he's not the only one "she's" got fooled.

The lights lowered a bit more as Jiyong walked out and onto the stage.  She paused in front of the chair, turning to the audience before smiling.

“Ladies and gentlemen, what I have prepared for you today might scare some of you. The things you are about to see might cause some of you to panic, but I want you to know right now I will protect you. Nothing you see today will cause you harm. I’m not going to tell you that this is just an illusion, that’s for you to decide on your own.” She said in a cautious tone that sent shivers up and down Seung hyun’s spine.

She smiled a bit before taking a seat. “This morning my assistant, Mr. Lee Seung ri,”-the sleepy eyed boy walked out halfway onto the stage and bowed before walking to the front of the stage and sitting on the edge. - “ and I took a walk in the local cemetery.  I noticed that there was a service this morning.” She paused for a bit, letting the audience take in her words as she closed her eyes. “I’m getting a vibe that some of the family is here. I believe it was a little girl that passed. Mr. Lee, will you bring her mother on the stage please. She’s seated in the fourth row, seventh seat.” She said eyes still closed.

Mr. Lee bounced off the stage and towards the audience members. He then led a woman to the stage. She was obviously freaked out, she held a hand over her mouth and looked like she was about to cry. Seung ri and instructed the woman to go over to Jiyong

Seung hyun was confused as to why Jiyong was bringing this woman onto the stage. The lights flickered a bit and Jiyong opened her eyes. She stood form her chair and walked over to the woman. They exchanged some words before Jiyong nodded and sat the woman down in her chair.

“Please, I need you to be as quiet as possible for this next part ladies and gentlemen.” Jiyong said to the audience before she closed her hands before her. Seung hyun was focusing his attention on Jiyong, and almost missed the apparition that appeared next to the woman in the chair.

It was a small girl, Seung hyun recognized the girl. After all it was a small town and everyone knew each other.  The girl smiled a bit before kneeling next to her mother, causing the woman to gasp slightly.

“Is this your child?” Jiyong asked as she took a seat on the stages edge next to her assistant.

“Yes.” The woman said quietly.

Jiyong smiled a bit and nodded, she closed her eyes again. Seung hyun noticed the young girl started to say something, but the words went unheard… or so he thought.

“She’s saying she loves you and that she’s sorry. She hid your favorite dress in the closet under the stairs, because she stained it while playing dress up one night.”

The woman started softly crying, she moved to touch the apparition. Just as her hand was about to come close, Seung ri was up and heading towards her in a heartbeat. He then spoke with her a bit before assisting her off the stage.

“Seung ri, can you please bring the man from the third row, second seat.” Jiyong called out, resuming her position in the chair next to the apparition, whom appeared to be sitting on the stage.

The man followed Seung ri up and onto the stage. He was frowned at Jiyong. “No one in my family has passed away recently.” He said with a slight snip in his tone that caused Jiyong to smile.

“This person has been dead for several years. He has a message for you.” Jiyong closed her eyes again and soon another apparition appeared in front of her, this time it was an older man. He turned to the gentleman that stood next to Seung ri and smiled, his mouth moving a bit in words unheard.

“He says he’s proud of you. He’s sorry for the way he treated you and your mother and he wishes he could take it back. He says he loves you and that you’ve turned out to be more perfect then he ever imagined you’d be.” The spirit nodded a bit and smiled again.

Jiyong started coughing a bit and pulled out her handkerchief and held it to her mouth. The spirits around her started to flicker as she coughed harder. Seung ri walked over to her side and whispered something to her. She nodded as he helped her up. Seung hyun was starting to grow a bit worried; she was still coughing as Seung ri lead her backstage.

“Is she alright?” Daesung whispered. The audience started murmuring similar things the air in the theater growing tense.

Seung hyun shrugged, his eyes fixed on the spirits as they walked towards each other before disappearing as quickly as they appeared. Seung ri then reappeared on the stage and smiled.

“I regret to inform you that The Mystical G-Dragon isn’t feeling well and will be unable to continue tonight. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience.” He announced before bowing slightly “Please have a safe ride home.” He said before turning and exiting the way he came.

“We’re finding out what’s going.” Daesung said as he stood up.

~*~*~*~*~

Daesung quickly headed over to Jiyong’s dressing room with Seung hyun following closely behind him. Seung ri stood outside the door where Jiyong’s coughing could still be heard.

“What’s going on here?” Daesung asked as he eyed Seung ri.

“Miss. Kwon is fine, she doesn’t wish for anyone to see her now.” Seung ri said chipper-ly, as if he couldn’t hear the sounds of what could be someone dying from behind the door.

“Bull, she sounds like she’s dying or something. Move aside tiny, I’m going in and checking things out.” Daesung said as he went to push Seung ri to the side, stopping in mid motion when the door opened revealing a very pale, and still slightly coughing Jiyong. She held her handkerchief to her mouth still and looked out at the group. Her eyes landed on Seung hyun for a moment before she quickly looked at Seung ri.

“Miss. Kwon, you shouldn’t be up just yet.” He said firmly as he moved towards her. She grasped his shirt slightly and whispered something to him before looking at Daesung and Seung hyun again. Jiyong removed her grip before speaking.

“I’m so sorry to have worried you boys, but everything is under control. You may leave now.” She said politely as Seung ri brushed passed her and entered the room. “I’ve a previous engagement otherwise I’d invite you in.”

Seung hyun stared at Jiyong for a moment.  “You sound like your dying in there.  What’s going on?”

Jiyong shook her head for a moment before looking back into the room and then faced the boys again.  She looked uncertain, as if she was trying to figure out how to get rid of them quicker.  “No really guys.  Now's not the best time, trust me I'm fine, I’ll see you tomorrow okay Seung hyun." Jiyong said before coughing into and into her handkerchief again.  When she turned her set head slightly, Seung Hyun noticed a slight red tinge to her once white handkerchief.

His eyes widened slightly before he spoke again “Bullshit," he stuttered out quickly, “You honestly think we believe that, there's blood on your handkerchief, right?"

Daesung's eyes widened when he realized Seung hyun was indeed correct.  “Miss. Kwon, I believe Seung hyun is right.  I was trained as a nurse.  You should let me in so I can see what’s wrong so that I won’t be forced to take you to a doctor, is that agreeable Miss Kwon?"

Jiyong shook her head a bit before laughing slightly, “Trust me Mr. Kang there's nothing you can do.  I know what's wrong with me and it's nothing a doctor can fix thus, there's nothing wrong with me." She said stiffly, “Now, if you please excuse me, and I have business to attend to.  You did say Mr. Kang that you would not stand in the way of my work, now please excuse me." She finished up before shutting the door their faces.

Seung Hyun and Daesung exchange glances. Daesung mumbled something to the effect of "Well I did say something like that..." Before shrugging to Seung Hyun and then walking away.  Seung hyun stared at the door a bit longer.  He was really unsure of what to do in this situation.  After giving it some thought, and no activity from behind the door, Seung Hyun decided it was best to just go home and ask Jiyong tomorrow.  After all they had scheduled a lunch date.

Seung hyun was starting to wonder how she did it, her act that is.  There was no real way she could manifest spirits like that, right?  After all it was just an act, it had to be, there’s no such thing as magic.  At least not that kind of magic, real magic happens every day.  A new baby is born, someone’s cancer is cleared, someone wins the lottery, the earth rotates, the plants grow, the seasons change, those are acts of real magic.  Seung Hyun just couldn’t believe in what he saw, there’s no way Jiyong could have preformed her act without some sort of assistance.

But so many variables were hard to work with, and Jiyong case she had more than one working simultaneously in order to create her illusion.  Her first illusion was the whole closing of the eyes but still knowing exactly which chair the family member was in.  And then, after pulling the family member on stage, she revealed their recently lost love one…  But then again, not all the spirits were recently lost.

Seung Hyun shook his head as he headed out.  He decided to stop thinking about this, it was only going to drive him insane, and besides all this talk of spirit and magic had made him a bit tired.  He decided it was time for some well earned rest.  He can always poke around the theater, and discover her gimmick later.
