Yay us
Brian and I had our one year anniversary on Monday. It was the first anniversary I've ever celebrated. I, in fact, used to disapprove of the whole institution of anniversaries. I think I (so young, so young) used to call them something like 'ritual tests designed to undermine a relationship.' I recant. I think it's lovely to be able to celebrate being part of a good thing together, to toast each other for our collaborative awesomeness. Plus, who doesn't love a legitimization of pasta and passion? :D
B gave me flowers in a ceramic(?) vase that he made. It is actually porcelain with a blue glaze on it. I wonder if porcelain is a subset of ceramics or if it something entirely different? But he made it on a wheel, and it makes me happy.
Tonight, we're going to watch some Full Metal Alchemist, have ourselves some drinks and a little laugh in the face of midweek academic responsibility. I'm excited. I think I've been happier this past year than any other year I can remember. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons why (American Engenderments and Modern Fiction and workshop versus Complex Variables, Abstract Algebra, and The Multidimensional Calculus for This Decade's Post-Einsteinian Plane of Existence ... ), but I don't exactly think it's coincidence that Brian's been around for most of it. Oh, fuck being coy, I love him. I love being part of a sock-rocking-us with him.
