Bing bong ding dong. That's the noise our counter bell makes that I have in my head all day. It's to the tune of Oh Lord Our God, Grant Us Thy Peace what we sung in Brownies, you know, like church bells. Bing bong ding dong.

I am spending my days reading other people's MA applications and answering questions about flipping AHRC funding and bemoaning the fact that should/when I want to do an MA I have no good referees because no-one in my ex-departments knows who I am as I spent most of my degree hiding from them because I had just not handed in an essay. Last time I saw my personal tutor he thought I was someone else and my ex-Psychology lecturer was in the Picturehouse Bar on Monday and didn't recognise me. Le sigh.

Still, it's dead good talking about education all day because it makes you want to DO IT, NOW. I am just going to stick with the short and evening courses for a while yet (am thinking I'll do a ten week Non-European Art History course at Greenwich soon because I'm bored of the European stuff in the AS Level), though there are lots of exciting MAs around. London Studies at Birkbeck, various Museum Studies courses, Arts Administration & Cultural Policy at Goldsmiffffs... ooh I just want to know everything. Unfortunately my atrociously short attention span means I change my life plan every week thus committing to anything at the moment would be silly.

I am still <3ing working. I have a reason to have to get out of bed and get dressed, I quite often smile, I get tired, I have money. I think I am good at administrating things (oh what an excellent and sexy life skill) and I like helping people. I actually want to use my spare time rather than lying around in bed. I know some people don't understand why I would want to have to sit in an office for eight hours every day with a fixed number of holidays and all that but I am SO MUCH HAPPIER than I was during the entirety of my degree. Hoo-flipping-RAH.

I was going to go on a ramble here about fun things I've been doing, but it'll just end up all and-then-and-then-and-then, so I shall be brief. Chinese New Year: chicken hearts, cherry blossom and firecrackers. Pancake party followed by excellent dancing in the union. A lot of time in the union, actually. Horniman Museum: giant seahorses, polar bears and spotting the Queen Bee in the hive. Twee gigs in Brixton & the Buffalo Bar. Thinking about forming a cheerleading squad. Stomping in muddy Sussex fields with cousins. Bumping (literally) into too many people from secondary school in New Cross (am considering asking Sainsbury's to stock the Mid Wales Journal as there's clearly a market). Scrabble in pubs. Hours of debate about gay male blood donation policy (vague conclusion: It's more sensible than we think. Oh and Gays like arguing). Queer Post-War ball. Actually, here is a picture from the ball, in my excellent new H&M dress (it's covered in wee hearts!) with Harri the incredibly gay-looking RAF Pilot.

"Great deals on Bunny Rabbits Shop on eBay and Save!" says today's LJ ad. Though at the moment I am requiring a cat as we again have a wee rodent visitor in the flat. He has been named Desmond by Ayana and has been attempting to excavate a tunnel through the kitchen/larder wall, the little rotter. I better not find my rice krispies nibbled when I get home or there will be TROUBLE, Mr. Desmond.

Okay, seven minutes of prospectus-request-processing then home, and still blue skies outside. Yay.
