Christmas Post
It's the holiday season. We all know this, and we all have our own reactions to the different themes and preparations and hell knows what else. *not in a thinking mood*
Personally, my reaction is a mixture of muted glee and nostalgia. Fact is- eight sibs. Fact is- CHRISTMAS.
My brothers (and sisters, as it will prove for the first time ever this year) traditionally sneak downstairs and MIGHT steal a present or two. Results in a bad morning. Christmas inspires glee in general, but it's mixed with dread about what they might get up to this year. Last year, I wound up sleeping in the living room. AKA, I wound up staring at the tree all night because I can't sleep where I KNOW other people can see me.
No sleep = grumpy Merisa. At least no one got a premature look at the presents?
AND SO.
Moving on. Other traditions include a yearly four hour drive to see other people's Christmas lights, saving the tree from curious babes and kittens (and though we have none of the latter, for the moment...), and lengthy calls to our Grandparents.
-oh, speaking of which. I never did say what happened on Thanksgiving with them. Fact is, it didn't. Really. Two days before they were supposed to leave, my Great Grandma (Grandma Sluder lives across the road from my paternal grandparents, and both parties own a significant chunk of land.) took a turn for the worst, not unexpected for an almost ninety year old woman. So they canceled. Mixed feelings on this. One hand, I really didn't want to see them. At least not this year. Other hand, Grandma Sluder's dying, and I really shouldn't be thankful as a result.
-moving on once again. THE POINT. SHE HAS ONE.
...I hesitate to say Christmas presents, on account of 'not everyone celebrating Christmas, hurrhurrhurr,' but there you go.
I'm taking fic requests. Give me characters from a fandom that I write/have written for, a prompt, and other requirements that don't include porn. Sadly, I don't write it. =) Warning; no guarantee it will be done in TIME for Christmas, but it will be done!
