On the plus side, I'm still on schedule with NaNo.
On the minus side, I was once very ahead with NaNo. Then I was sick as a dog for two days (four days ago), couldn't stand looking at the computer, and've only managed a couple thousand words since then.
Again on the minus side. Emotional rollercoaster that I can't/won't go on about.
AGAIN on the minus side. My grandparents are coming into town. In a week. And they have to stay at our house. IN A WEEK. This means two or three things; panic, my room must be cleaned, and screaming of parents CONSTANTLY.
On the plus side, they're supposed to be bringing us a car. That'll be mine.
Minus side, I can't get anyone to pay attention long enough to (a) take me to get new glasses (I've needed a new pair for over a year), (b) take me to get a driving permit so that I can GET a license at some point, (c) help me with anything.
*sigh*
NaNo talk: Is it bad when your first chapter's ten thousand words and counting? Seriously. I think that a LOT needs to be cut, or it just needs to be split, but...
Fanfiction rant. Whenever I'm REALLY upset, I go on a walk. (yes, this is relevant.) If there's a thunderstorm, it's a LONG walk tempting fate by being the tallest thing on a flat highway..... Makes me happy, and negates any need for anything ELSE that I might do.
Given we're in Tucson, and monsoon season is over *sob*, I get a short walk at night before I come inside and read for hours on end.
Fanfiction; I lovelovelove my happy endings. Books, movies, shows... Give the characters hell, but in the end everyone's together again and you're gonna live. (Even the dead guys. ;))
Yes, I was VERY upset last night. So I'm just talking for awhile about nothing important, 'kay?
Final Fantasy, from what I know, would have good characters to play with regarding time travel. I know I've seen Cloud go back in time more than once (all the best ones are on my author's alerts and favorite's lists, unless I missed some), but those are only when he goes back to when Sephiroth was sane. On the plus side, he has to deal with his memory or lack thereof. On the minus side, he always seems to forget his other friends, and AVALANCHE. Except for Tifa. And Aeris. And sometimes the TURKS.
I find this incredibly irritating. AND I DIDN'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME.
/fanbrat.
But, seriously. Why always Cloud? Why not Yuffie? *shot by Aloria* Vincent seems to have a good background for this type of story... despite the fact that I'd probably not really like it because it's way before the time of most of the other characters. Barret... well. I'd like to see it, but he's the character that's ignored in fandom in favor of Other Things. Cid? Tifa? Aeris, even? Nanaki? Reeve?
...oooooooh. Reeve's a good'un. As're the TURKs.
...I'm ignoring Zack in favor of personal bias. Because Zack doesn't know about, and therefore wouldn't give a damn about, Vincent and Red and so on. Unless he was yanked from the Lifestream.
...
ANYWAY. Final Fantasy VII's definitely a good place for time travel. Don't know about any of the others enough to devote myself to finding more stories for them. But VIII's got the whole Time Compression deal...
*cough* Harry Potter = need not to be spoken of.
Kingdom Hearts has LUXORD.
I've got about three pages of a Luxord time travel AU stowed away, and I'm fully prepared to finish if someone doesn't beat me to it. *threatens* It doesn't even have to be him! It can just be All His Fault!
*snicker*
Of anime, there's the Dragonball franchise.
Yeah, think about that one for awhile.
...
...
...are you done yet?
Hell, any anime.
Slayers *pokes*.
Gundam Wing... okay, I don't know that much about the series. I just love the characters. *reads too much fanfiction, yessirree*
...during my introduction to Naruto (my ignorance couldn't last forever), I actually found one time travel fic I really liked. Well, make that more than one, BUT. This one was, like, HUGE. And I read it. And reread it. And read it again.
Yeah, I liked it that much. Writer needs a beta, but the story... once it gets rolling, it gets ROLLING. And doesn't stop. *wants to reread it again, now*
Inuyasha... has a freakin' well. What if the well sent Kagome back a little farther, huh? Living in three times at once? Or her little brother, instead? He can go meet Kenshin! *crossover junkie*
...Disney.
The Little Mermaid.
ARIEL.
How would that work out for her?
Her deal with octocunt *shot*. She's married to Eric, and then she's in the past? Before she had convinced her Dad that her humanity was for the best? Before she had seen the hell that everyone had had to go through as a result of her deal with Miss Witch?
Equals one messed up story.
Meg, in Hercules as the time travel victim. Shiiiiinyyyyyyy.
...I can't figure out if Aladdin or Jasmine would be the better vic for Aladdin.
...Oh, The Lion King. EXCELLENT material. Could Simba prevent his father's death? Still be friends with Timon and Pumbaa? Scar? Ooooooooo.
...I'm gonna quit. Now. Before I do something really stupid.
