Summary: Kurosaki Ichigo, a 15-year-old with an amount of spirit power unusual for a human, lived an ordinary existence until he encountered the shinigami named Kuchiki Rukia as she was in the middle of fighting a creature called a Hollow. When Rukia sustained critical injuries in the battle, she passed her powers on to Ichigo to fight in her place; from then on, his life was never the same.
