Title: Someday

Rating: PG
Summary: Just an original drabble. "Someday at the most unlikliest place, we'll meet each other again. A busy street in Istanbul or shopping at some run-down supermarket, a simple park bench on a rainy day. Someday, somewhere, it'll happen."
Someday.
Someday at the most unlikliest place, we'll meet each other again. A busy street in Istanbul or shopping at some run-down supermarket, a simple park bench on a rainy day. Someday, somewhere, it'll happen.
Your eyes will light up in surprise, and you'll sputter in that way of yours before a smile takes hold of your features. It will bring back nostalgic memories of those late night talks and the silly things we used to do, and maybe I'll still feel something for you. Maybe.
Someday it will happen and you'll hold me in your arms again, a swift, hard grasp that tugs at my heart and the strings that control dying emotions. You'll pull back, look into my eyes and ask the pleasantries. We'll smile and talk like adults, the adults we've become with families and little children.
You'll pull me away from shopping on that busy street or from that dreadful market or waiting on that park bench and we'll go for drinks, recounting the years before and soon and in between.
It'll be perfectly lovely, we'll think, catching up with each other when time can separate the pain of our parting.
And at the end, you'll take me home and I'll give you a number to call and you'll give me yours. We'll keep in touch, is what we'll say, but we won't really mean it. Our lives, once hard to imagine apart, are no longer and can never be intertwined, not ever again.
And I'll say goodbye and shut the door to my past, tucking it in the space you left behind.
Someday.
