The amazing summer (pre-college!) adventures of amy martin, cont.
Spent last week in my favorite place in the world (family lake house in Indiana) with my wonderful love, doing a whole lot of nothing... sleeping, some water activities, one mosquito-ridden game of mini-golf, and a whole lot of family game night type activities. And nine days of non-stop Benjamin. Yes.
Turned around (after returning Sunday) to go visit Erica in Sonoma Tuesday night with (you guessed!) Ben. We then went to Chico, helped his older brother Thomas move in to his new apartment (so I didn't help much... but I was DD!) and just returned earlier today. Tomorrow - SF to visit Matthew at SFSU. A whole lot of going places - next week, LA for three days to see Madisen (fabulous roommate, up and coming best bud at Davis), set to include a trip over to Disney (!!!) and then Chico again for fricking Labor Day weekend. If my flight gets me back soon enough. Following week, Ashland with my mama.
Am I ever home? No. It's perfect. And gets my parents acclimated to me not being here 24/7.
3 weeks, 1 day until Davis move-in. No packing done, some shopping left, and a whole lot of personal catch-up: clean bathroom, 12 books, 1 chapter/season of Greek, some gym time, hopefully rafting and Pleasanton ridge-ing, some letters of recommendation, some visiting, and a whole lot of Ben time. I'm sure there's more, but that's plenty to try to wrap my mind around for now. Seeing Erica and Thomas' places so makes me want one of my own (rather than a dorm) though. And then I could have as much of my stuff as I wanted, and a full sized bed (boo twin!), and room for my love to come and stay whenever. And friends. Because basically all visitors to my dorm will be forced to sleep on the floor. Don't forget a sleeping bag.
