Dum de dum diddle dum...
So, in between working very hard at doing nothing today, I found an amusing article, whose very existence seems to support the claim it's making:

Apparently, because they are better at self recognition. I have a couple of comments to make about this. Firstly, thank goodness, because pigeons live a fraction of the time that humans do, and so I would hope would develop this skill more quickly.
Secondly, thank goodness because otherwise it would make babysitting far more difficult. Honestly, plonking a toddler in front of a floor-length mirror? Hillarious, and hours of fun for all involved.
I would also like to mention that the hyphens used in the article's title (I didn't use them here) are used in contradiction to currently accepted punctuation Best Practices. I'm just sayin'.
That is all the nitpickery I have for today.
