Family based gathering. Relations come from all over and meet under one roof.

Not for those who live far and or don't usually interact for whatever reason. Grand feast is a special occasion that calls them together.

Humans usually live in the same places their entire lives in my world. Families rarely leave where they are born because it is far too dangerous to leave the walls of their town or city. Perhaps in other worlds it is different, but the concept you are speaking of seems unnecessary to me.
