Working her way around the filled ball room Darcy was looking for any Avenger to help her. She wasn't really sure what the party was for with people from different contries but Pepper had asked her and Dawn to come. Slipping in a side door they were able to linger along a sidewall before they were noticed by stuffy people wanting to know who they had come or why they had gotten invited.
Eventually a man with a british accent had gotten fixated with Dawn and would not stop talking to her, even intterupting other people trying to visit with Dawn.
Seeing that the guy wouldn't quit Darcy went looking for help. Seeing Steve Darcy stepped around a ice sculpture to head his way. Recognizing the look on his face as 'I can't tell Clint his cooking stinks' face Darcy pulled out her cell phone and walked up to Steve, “Excuse me, Captain. I have informatin you need to review.”
Nodding at the man he had been speaking to Steve followed Darcy to a corner as Steve looked at the phone and drew his finger across the screen he listened to Darcy's exclamation. “You had that get me out of this mess look on your face, and Dawn needs help. She's got a bully who wont stop talking to her and she's being polite or the guy would have been punched already.”
“Someone's bullying her?” Steve demanded to know.
“The guy really wants to get on Dawn's sister's good side and wont leave her alone. Like how that asshole I dated early summer saw me as the doorway to being friends with the Avengers. This jerk think's Dawn's the doorway to her sister and the highschool librarian.” Darcy elaborated as she pointed to Dawn walking across the room with the guy following her.
Steve straightened up, “Get Happy to show the guy the door and I think I'm in the mood for a dance.”
“May I cut in Ms. Summers?” Steve asked and with out waiting for an answer started to twirl Dawn across the floor.
