Accepted - Day 29

At least Buffy was honest with Dawn about why she was letting her go. And Dawn should be safer in Colorado.

My heart bleeds for buffy. Dawn has her father to take care of her. Buffy has no one to fall back on. Only spike, which she doesnt really completely trust yet although thats justified with all of his attempts to kill her in the past and her experience with angel. She is in the losing side, the way i see it. She really couldnt catch a break. I dont even know if she can really afford the treatments she mentioned. Without a job to support herself, how can she pay for her treatments.

It's a relief yes that Dawn's being taken care of so that at least she can fully concentrate on herself. And thank you for stopping freeloading willow! I like how anya calls her out on that. Thats one of the things i really didnt like when the series was showing. I mean cmon, she didnt really remember to pay her own way even though she knows that buffy was looking for a job and has tons of bills to pay! Shameless willow!

Yeah, Buffy has a tough road ahead. And it is one that hopefully doesn't involve drinking and being invisible and using Spike. And the help she'll find would be (discretely) from a Council source who deals in the supernatural and after-death experiences.

Dawn, I always felt like she was just an annoyance in S6, she really had no purpose since she wasn't the Key anymore. And instead of working off the great character growth of that moment on the Tower in "Gift" (or even "Bargaining") that was so big, they reduced her to a screaming brat. Don't get me wrong she had plenty of reasons to be angry, but she ends up playing against Buffy in a way that detracted from not only her own heroics but Buffy's death.

And don't even get me started on the lack of sense in S6 when it comes to Willow. Or the silent destruction of Spike and Dawn's relationship (which only made sense after "Seeing Red" but was punted early in the season in favor of more naked Spike).
