Accepted - Day 22

Well, some are apparently still very angry. I guess Tindomiel had forgotten, or hadn't realized, that some people hold grudges and probably will never forgive.

It's probably a lot easier to forgive when the wrong isn't ongoing...most people who lost someone in the Kinslayings will see them again. But in my 'verse, Dior's gone the same way Luthien and Beren are, which leaves Nimloth no prospect of being reunited.

But Nimloth had to know she and Dior would be sundered eventually, since he was a mortal. Not that she might not hold a grudge forever for precious years being denied them as a happy family. In which case, does that mean she must stay in the Halls forever? And now I’m wondering if her twins are in the Halls. It seems like they shouldn’t have to stay in there so long, but perhaps it would be damaging to them to be returned to life with no parental figure at such a young age? Although their bodies were never found, so they could have ended up as Thralls, or orcs? I sometimes forget how bad of a fate people can end up in Middle Earth. -Kesherkat

Nimloth didn't have to know anything. Luthien and Beren were a unique case in the history of Arda - a half-elf/half-maia and a mortal. How would anyone know what to expect Dior's fate to be? Even Luthien may not have known for sure.

I wonder if anyone will beseech Tindomiel on Nimloth’s behalf to forgive her. Nimloth herself could ask someone to do it, or one of Fëanor’s children might decide to intervene, out of pity and guilt for all the crimes they did against her. I could possibly even see Nienna asking, and explaining to her she doesn’t have to allow the dead to touch her, since I’m not sure when/how she figures that part out before finding Fëanor. Especially since Nienna wants her to heal instead of adding to her suffering. Thank you so much for writing of the Incident! <3 Kesherkat

I don't know about beseeching, but there will probably be family pressure brought to bear on Tindomiel to see Nimloth again at some point to let her apologize.

Nienna doesn't need to explain what Tindomiel can figure out perfectly well with a little help from her relatives if she doesn't get it herself...
