Summary: Darcy is surprised by a visitor to the tower.

Timeline/Setting: Set about a couple of months after Chosen and shortly after The Avengers movie.
Author's notes(if any): nope. It’s fanfic…. Cue hand waving for ages and dates of characters.
“Miss Lewis. You have a guest at lobby security.” Jarvis announced to the lab. Tony looked up form his soldering work and scrunched up his face at Darcy.
“Lewis what are you doing having company here?”
“I haven't told anyone where I am more specifically than New York City. Except for Dawn.” Darcy said stopping her work of picking up coffee and tea mugs that needed washing.
“Who's Dawn?”
“From what I've seen she's my Rhodey and Pepper combo and my cousin. She shouldn't be here. She lives in California and didn't talk about going on vacation or anything.”
“A Rhodey and Pepper two-fer! That sounds impressive. I'm going with you to meet her.” Tony said reaching for the most recent coffee cup and standing up.
Seeing Tony was serious Darcy relaxed. “Actuallly that would be great Tony. If it is her this is very unexpected and weird. If it was a planned vacation she would have been asking me touristy place questions for a month.”
Walking through a discreet door that hid the private elevator to the Avengers working and living floors Tony followed Darcy toward the security desk.
“Dawn!”
Darcy didn't need to say anything more because the young brown haired woman turned, dropped her large backpack, and lunged to hug Darcy pressing her face into Darcy's neck.
“Can she come upstairs or do you have someplace private we can go?” Darcy asked Tony as she squeezed Dawn tight.
“Upstairs but I want one of the spies there too.” Tony said typing on his cell phone.
Ignoring Natasha and Clint playing a board game Darcy guided Dawn to sit on the sofa so she could sit on the ottoman facing her. “Why are you here Dawn? I thought you were spending the summer at home before going to college next year?”
“That was the plan then the whole city went kaboom and now Buffy wants to the live the out all night going to the club life in Italy. I missed you, didn't like Italy since she was pulling me along with her, and I want to go to college.”
“I've missed you too. I'll have to talk to my landlord to see if you can move in with me and if not then we can try to find a place together and you can look into colleges here or what about online classes?” Darcy offered seeing the spies out of the corner of her eye looking like they were fully engrossed in the game. They had played the game last night and Darcy was familiar enough with the game to know they were actually shuffling the cards and not properly playing.
Tony looked up from a computer screen in one of the tables to Dawn. “Hey Summer's what about a work study thing where you work part time for Stark Industries and work on getting your degree while sharing an apartment with Darcy?”
“That sound perfect. Do you know what job search website SI uses or if they have a separate job application page for college students on their site?” Dawn said looking to Tony trying to subtly wipe her eyes dry.
“There ya go Lewis. You have the landlord's approval and Summers, I'll talk to Pepper and see about getting you a job someplace.” Tony said heading to the door leaving the Clint and Natasha behind.
“Oh Dawn, you're exhausted. Take a nap here. We've got a plan your job and a place to stay. Tomorrow we can work on college for you.” Darcy commanded gently pushing Dawn to the side to lay down on the sofa.
After Dawn was asleep Dawn quietly said, “Jarvis, find me what you can on recent events in the town of Sunnydale California.”
“It imploded. Boom and the city was gone. A school bus of young women and various other folks raced the crater away from where the high school was located.” Clint recited from a report.
“I recognize her. Let her know if she is up to it I would like to hear what happened in this year's may 'we're doomed' please.” Natasha said looking at the sleeping Dawn.
“What in the world Dawn?” Darcy mumbled looking at her cousin.
