Author's Notes: I thought that Misty got the short end of the stick in AHS: Coven. And while it was never stated what happened to Catherine Madison after the fall of Sunnydale, I think it's fair to say she would end up in hell.
She screamed as the scalpel was forced into the moving frog, blood spurting into the table, her hands, soaking into the sleeves of her shirt. Her classmates just laughed, laughed at her soft heart, laughed at her desperate babbling for the teacher to stop, stop forcing her to kill the frogs. Dropping the knife onto the table, she reached with shaking hands to the dying frog, cupping them around it as she brought it back to life.
Again.
And again.
Over and over the loop played, over and over was she forced to kill the innocent animal. No matter what she did, she couldn’t escape it.
Couldn’t escape this hell.
Tears streaked down her face as she once again cupped her hands over the frog, willing it back to life, when the sound of an unfamiliar voice startled her from her task.
“Well. This is rather pathetic,” the person drawled as she stepped into the room, ignored by the teacher and Misty’s classmates. “All this power, and you allow yourself to be stuck in this memory.”
The frog sprang to life under her hands, and her classmate called out to the teacher, just as the loop had gone previously. This time, the unknown woman sighed and grabbed Misty’s hands, forcing her away from the desk. Looking at the classmates and the teacher, the woman waved a hand and everything around her froze. “I can’t keep the loop at bay very long. The guardians of this hell will realize what I’ve done and come to put things back into place.”
“This…hell?” Misty asked, her voice just a rasp, her vocal cords traumatized from her screams. “Is this where I am? Is there anyway to escape?”
“Together, if we combine our powers,” the woman said firmly, her eyes twitching back to the classmates and the teacher who were beginning to move, as if thawing from a frozen state. “I can provide the juice. All we need is your power of resurrection and we can escape.”
Misty nodded, her mind still not focusing right. Taking the woman’s hand, she closed her eyes to center her magics, when a sudden thought occurred to her. “If this is hell, why are you here? Who are you?”
“Catherine Madison,” she replied, her eyes going black as she called upon her magics. Misty’s eyes widened at the feeling, feeling the dark magic crawling down her skin, the dark magic being called on by the older woman. “Why am I here? I made a mistake. I don’t intend to make the same one twice.”
Though she knew she only had a few precious moments to use her powers, Misty hesitated slightly. If this truly was hell - which she vaguely recalled knowing the truth of the place - maybe it wasn’t the best of ideas to free this woman of it. The magics she called on her dark indeed, dark enough that even Misty had only felt things like that a few times, used by people she and her friends were fighting against.
But she could be free, never to be part of that awful loop of death ever again.
Against her better judgment, Misty closed her eyes and took a firmer hold of the woman’s - Catherine’s - hand. She allowed the dark magic to sink into her, allowed her own powers to bleed into it, as she summoned every ounce of strength she had to envision a way out of this loop, this hell. At the moment, she didn’t care about the potentially evil person she was helping break out.
She needed out of this memory, out of the cycle of killing the poor creature in terribly painful ways. No matter what the cost.
