“I thought it was supposed to be a Banshee?”

“I know, Dean, but I guess it wasn’t this time. Not every case pans out.”

Dean Winchester groaned in frustration and dropped his head onto the table. His brother, Sam, sat opposite him in the diner booth and squirted tomato sauce on his fries. Dean’s mood improved momentarily as a busty waitress placed a coffee in front of him, giving him an alluring smile that caused Dean to smile and Sam to roll his eyes. Sam watched the waitress walk away, bypassing the kitchen and heading straight out the back door. His contemplation was interrupted when Dean began complaining about a wasted trip and Sam began to wish that the waitress wasn’t on her break so that he wouldn’t have to listen to Dean complaining. He ate quickly, hoping to get out of the diner and back into the motel room to find another case, something that would get Dean off his back.

Sam woke later that night with the feeling that something was wrong. He looked over at his brother’s bed and instead of seeing Dean sprawled out, he saw rumpled sheets. Sam frowned and checked the bathroom before opening the front door and checking outside. The Impala was still there and Sam relaxed with the knowledge that Dean couldn’t have gone far. He propped himself up on his bed and turned on the TV while he waited for Dean to get back. Within minutes, he was asleep again, undisturbed by the dull noise and bright lights of the program.

When he next woke the sun had been up for a little while and Sam moved sleepily into the bathroom, running the shower and allowing the hot spray to wake him up. He waited for the usual rant from Dean about using all the hot water but it didn’t come. Sam turned the shower off and walked into the room, wrapping a towel around his waist. His head tilted slightly as he noticed everything in exactly the same position as when he had woken up earlier and neither Dean’s sheets nor clothes had been touched. Sam saw the Impala still parked out front and his hand stopped as it reached for his mobile. Dean’s mobile sat next to his on the nightstand and Sam felt a sinking feeling in his stomach; Dean wouldn’t have gone out without either the Impala or his phone. Sam picked up his phone and dialled the familiar number.

“Bobby? I need your help. Dean’s missing…”

He walked into the bar and looked around. A second later a beautiful blonde entered wearing a tight leather pants and a white lace top with a very low neck. She sauntered over to the bar and ordered a drink while she kept her eye upon him. His gaze landed on three burly men standing around the pool table as they watched their friend take his shot. He walked over to the group and said something low enough that, although nobody else in the bar heard it, they all heard the response as one of the bikers shouted in indignation and his friend threw a punch.

And just like that, a brawl broke out. The barman tried to break it up but only received a black eye for his trouble and even though the blonde sat at the bar, seemingly unfazed by the riot, her fist would occasionally strike out knocking the troublemaker at the end of it unconscious.

She smiled as she finished her drink and the fight broke up, several men standing and most on the floor, but her eyes remained on one man. He walked over to her, putting his token leather jacket back on before pulling her into a rough kiss-one that she enthusiastically responded to. After several minutes he pulled away, put his arm around her and led her out of the bar, pausing briefly for them to look up at the camera and grin.

Sam paused the footage and looked over at Bobby. “That was in a bar in Indiana two days ago. So far, they have been sticking to the small towns and heading west.”

“What does that igit think he’s doing? He’s gonna draw attention to himself.”

“See, that’s what’s odd,” Sam said as he closed his laptop, “He’s not. I don’t know why but someone seems to covering up their tracks pretty well.” Sam sighed before he stood and started pacing. “That’s not Dean, it can’t be. Dean wouldn’t do this. I know he’s tired of the job, and he wanted out, but this isn’t him.

“Still think he’s possessed?”

Sam frowned. “Of course. Bobby, you know him. Even if he decided to leave everything, including the car he loves so much, he wouldn’t do this. For the last week it’s been bar brawls and mayhem. That’s a demon, not Dean.”

“I know. Who do ya think is coverin’ their tracks?”

“I’m not sure but whoever it is has some influence. Everywhere they’ve been, the destruction has been recorded but they’ve been omitted. I don’t know what to make of it.”

“Alright, well I’ve gotta head off, so keep me updated and if you find him, call me.”

Sam helped Bobby get his stuff out to the car and waved him off. He walked sullenly back into the motel room and opened the laptop, staring at the grinning face of his brother.

“Where are you, Dean?” he whispered.

“Hello, boys, miss me?” she cooed as she walked into the nest. Almost immediately they all stood and dropped into a fighting stance, carefully eyeing the woman and man before them. The leader frowned before straightening and looking at the small blonde.

“You stole the Slayer’s body? She’s gotta be mad.”

She smiled. “Well, it’s mine now, but you see, I have a small problem, don’t I, my love?”

He stepped forward and smiled at her. “You sure do.”

“See, I have this thirst for destruction and taking on humans just isn’t doing it for me anymore-there’s no challenge.” She continued on even though they all stiffened. “And now we’ve come looking for a bigger challenge.”

The nest moved forward, almost as one, as they attacked the intruders. Buffy and Dean took on several vampires each and he watched with great appreciation as she slew through the enemy with a grace seldom seen. Her vampires were dispatched quickly and she moved toward him, staking those along the way until she stood beside him, her stake finding its mark on each and every vampire as easily as his. Within minutes the entire nest was a pile of ashes on the concrete floor, the wind slowly blowing it away as she turned to him pouting.

“Not enough?” he asked, with a small smile. She shook her head sadly and he pulled her closer, a low growl escaping his mouth as it hungrily sought hers. “I know something else that can keep us occupied…” Her smile widened and she tugged on his hand as she gleefully led him from the building.
