“Hello?” One of the young slayers in the house asked to the man standing on the front stoop.
“Xander’s expecting me. I’m Clark.” Clark Kent said holding a box.
“He’s upstairs somewhere.” The girl said turning and walking away leaving the door open.
Clark eventually found Xander in his room. Xander’s room was private, invitation only, part bedroom and part lounge area, and Clark silently opened the door to enter. The A-Team movie was on the TV and Xander was sitting on the couch not really paying attention. Clark silently sat until Xander looked over ans noticed him.
“Hey.”
“What’s going on?” Clark asked as explosions lit the TV screen.
“A couple of the young new girls accused me of being a worthless norm. They were talking and I don’t think they cared if I heard them or not. No one here was in Sunnydale and what if they all feel that way?” Xander said looking at Clark.
“Xander, you know what all I can do.” Clark said but stopped at Xander’s confused face.
“Huh?”
“The flying, strength, heat vision and all the rest.”
“Oh yeah. I forgot.”
“Xander you and my parents are the only ones who treat me as a person and don’t care what I can do. That makes you incredible. To someone who doesn’t know you, they might think you are just a guy but I know you are not. You are an amazing good man who has always been a great friend from that first night we met in Oxnard to my first days in Metropolis, everything I went through as Superman, and when I lost my abilities you never wavered. You Xander are my hero.” Clark said as Xander slowly emerged from the curled up ball of unhappiness.
“Seriously?” Xander asked looking at Clark.
“Seriously yes and my parents have claimed you and they don’t claim just anybody. Mom sent you a pie if you need proof of that.”
“Thanks Clark and tell Martha thanks. I like her pies.”
