The Whole Truth...

He walked calmly down the street of the construct he'd created. Worry niggled at the back of his mind over this trip. They had been hired by a concerned family, a very wealthy and influential one. Had the family not been so upstanding and come up clean on their checks, he never would have agreed to this inception on such a well-protected man. The fact that this man's people had approached him with an offer for his daughter may have played some part in his decision as well. Unfortunately, the representative had been called away before the conversation could progress and they weren't scheduled to visit again until next week.
Moving through the shadows he didn't recall planting, his unease increased. Things had been going too smoothly so far, especially for the leader of an organization as secretive as the New Council.
"Enjoying the stroll?" a voice asked.
He spun around and looked down a shadowed alleyway he knew shouldn't be there. From the shadows stepped a much younger looking Rupert Giles wearing jeans, a t-shirt and a leather jacket.
"I'm surprised you agreed to do this for the Willingtons." Seeing the shock on the other man's face, Giles offered a very Ripperish grin. "We offered to show them all the proof they needed, we hid nothing but the names of the council and the names of the other girls from them. But I suppose some people need to know everything."
As the younger Giles turned, the scene around them shifted as well, morphing and re-forming, reshaping itself into a high school library. Giles hopped up on the counter and gestured around him. "All this, is memory. It happened in the past, my past. I'll be showing you the truth of what was and what we're trying to keep your daughter and theirs from facing. Think of it as a guided memory tour. Have a seat, I won't be a moment."
Carefully taking a seat, uncertain what else to do, he waited and watched as a slightly older looking Rupert Giles in a tweed jacket appeared behind the library desk.
This was a memory, a true one, he'd spent enough time inside to know for sure. The doors to the library burst open and a young teenaged blonde strode into the room. She couldn't be more than fifteen.
He watched them interact. After the girl left, the scene froze and younger Giles reappeared. "Well, don't you want to take a look at the book?" he asked.
Rising from his seat, he walked over to the counter and saw the title of the book, "Vampyre".
His eyes, wide in surprise rose to meet his guides.
Another Ripperish grin appeared on the other man's face as he informed, "Oh, we're just getting started."
