Work Around
By Beriaearwen
Faith slipped in the back door of the less than savory bar. With all the places to gamble here in Vegas, you'd think people would avoid a place like this - dark, dingy, sticky, smelly - but then everyone needed their dirty little secrets, she supposed.
Still, her contact said that her victim was hiding out here. It always seemed to be touch and go when your informant was a vampire, but she made sure they understood the benefit of telling the truth before becoming ashtray-sized.
Of course, she lucked out and was able to confirm her target's location. Normally the slayers didn't have leads like this on their prey, but the peaceful demons here in Las Vegas were all worried because an outsider came on "vacation" and started causing trouble.
When exactly she and her sister slayers stopped killing all demons and started working with and for the demons, she wasn't sure, but the irony of her being what amounted to a supernatural cop wasn't lost on her.
Speaking of cops, she spotted Jim Brass at the bar speaking with the bartender. She really hated being around cops. Her natural predisposition to dislike them had only been compounded by events in California.
The biggest problem with her tracking down the demon and taking care of the problem hadn't been contaminating or destroying the evidence at the CSI place, it had been trying to avoid the cops. Not just the regular uniforms and detectives, but those CSI people were everywhere.
A smirk appeared on her face as she thought about her foray into the lab to destroy all supernatural evidence. There had been fewer CSI's in the lab than in the field. Not that she would complain, it just made it that much easier.
Getting around while avoiding them in the field was just a pain. Even if they did make for good eye candy, she couldn't afford to be found out by one of them. Besides - cops. 'Nough said.
Hiding herself amongst the plentiful shadows, Faith waited for the Detective to clear out.
Once he finally left, she slipped through the crowd mostly unnoticed. Approaching her target from the rear, she reached taround and quickly snapped his neck before sticking a silver dark in his heart (located near his left hip) before dropping one of Red's "notice me not" stones on him and slipping away.
This sort of demon was one of her favorites to kill - no fuss, no muss, no residue. The body simply vaporized leaving nothing behind. The silver dart in its heart would just speed things along.
With her job done, she just had to call in and then she'd have a few hours to kill before leaving. Just about enough time to get some and get gone.
End.
