Here Be Chaos from last year.
The house Agnes lived absolutely oozed of dark magic.
“It’s a very, very bad idea to go in there,” Willow said, as she and Buffy stood at the path leading up to the house. She discretely ran a hand through the air, wriggling her fingers to read the aura of the house. Shivering, she put her hand back into her pocket and shook head head. “Nope. There’s basically an ‘evilness lies this way’ sign in the front yard.”
“Okay, so pass on the house of evil,” Buffy agreed, and both turned as one and headed back down the driveway to the sidewalk. “Maybe we can ask one of her neighbors if someone unusual happened around here recently?”
“If they’re willing to give us the time of day.”
They glanced around the very quiet neighborhood, the closed doors, and the curtains pulled over windows, and Buffy sighed, “Survey says no.”
Dejected, they reached the sidewalk and started their trek back to the the main part of town. They had just passed a mailbox with the name Proctor embellished on it when the sound of a door startled them both, and they turned towards the open front door of the house next to Agnes’. A woman, her back to them, was slowing locking her front door. She turned towards them, averting her eyes immediately as they froze. No recognition shone in her face as she hurried through her yard, purposefully stepping across her lawn to avoid their place on the sideway.
“Excuse me,” Willow started, swallowing thickly around the sudden lump in her throat.
The woman ignored her and kept walking, keeping her head down and pace brisk as she headed across the street and down the sidewalk, walking the opposite way as them.
Buffy and Willow only stared as her figure slowly disappeared from view, before Buffy turned to Willow, her face ashen, “Was that Anya?”
Without a word, Willow headed up the path to the woman’s house, knocking sharply on the door. A noise from deeper within the house sounded, and both woman waited with baited breath for the door to open. When it finally did, a man with black hair and a mustache answered it, a bland smile on his face. His eyes widened in alarm as he saw them, and he attempted to push the door closed.
Using her Slayer strength, Buffy shoved the door forward, and he went sprawling across the ground, giving them enough of an opening to squeeze through, shutting the door behind us.
“How did you recognize us?” Buffy demanded, any other words cut off as he recovered and leaped at her with astonishing speed. Putting her arm up to block his swinging arm, she blocked his punch and kicked forward. He fell to the ground with an oof, the wind knocked out of him.
She reached down to push him onto his back and was caught unaware as he twisted his body upwards, hitting her under the chin with a surprisingly strong uppercut. Buffy flew through the air, landing against a chair and knocking it on its back. Wincing, Buffy flipped back onto her feet, rubbing under her chin at the place he hit, which was sure to leave a bruise.
“Who are you?” she demanded and glanced over at Willow. Nodding, the witch reached out with her magic, creating a glowing magical rope to wrap around the man.
Growling in annoyance, he stood up and, in a burst of magic that blinded both of them, burned the magical rope away. Opening their eyes, both of their jaws dropped at the person - demon - now standing in front of them.
“Just what does it take for you two to mind your own business,” D'Hoffryn asked in annoyance, hands on his hips as he glared at them.
Notes: So Emma Caulfield played a character in Wandavision and I couldn't resist.
