"Now that SG-1 has left to go home and tattle on us about what they've learned... It's time to talk about how we're going to move forward."

Buffy was excited, this was the part she had been waiting for. It was a pity they had decided not to bring any of their children along for this, but her symbiote had insisted it had to be just them the first time. The still unnamed elder put a small damper on her enthusiasm though.

"Why were we not contacted as soon as you gained a host?"

Buffy bowed her head and then Egeria raised it as this was a question for the symbiote and not the host. "We were in the past, my child. Changing the timeline could cause disastrous consequences. Our presence was already changing the future. Making contact with any of the Tok'ra would likely have had an unfortunate impact on what needed to happen."

*What's this guy's name? Since I assume you know him.* The two of them had long since learned to stay out of each other's private thoughts and memories unless given explicit permission. Or rather, Egeria had taught Buffy how to shield her thoughts and memories so she didn't 'scream' them at the symbiote. Finally getting the hang of that had really been of the good.

*Laran. He had only had his first host for a few decades when I was captured by Ra.*

"Your knowledge of the future could have saved many Tok'ra. We could have conquered the Goa'uld before they killed so many of us if you had revealed yourself to us at an earlier point.* Laran looked half pleadingly and half upset, but somehow still managed to look mostly calm and collected. Which was an impressive feat, and one Buffy kind of envied.

"We did not know as much as you appear to believe we did. Our information was given to us by someone else who was not present at these events. Details were scarce, and memories cannot always be trusted. But the future needed to be preserved as much as possible. This is why we chose to make more Tok'ra in secret, where no one would know about them unless we told them."

Another Tok'ra, one with a female host who had a kind of distinctive pronunciation spoke up next. "How many new brothers and sisters do we have, my queen? When can we meet them?"

"At this time it would be unwise to reveal too much information. Too much time has passed since I knew any of you, and we would like to become reacquainted before we allow anyone to come to the worlds we have populated."

"But you intend to speak with the Tau'ri in more detail, do you not?" Another male Tok'ra spoke up from the other end of the long table.

"Buffy intends to speak with the Tau'ri, yes. They are from her homeworld and she would like to see if it is possible to have good relations with them. She is also certain they are interested in more details in regards to the timeline she came from. We are aware of the fragile alliance between the Tok'ra and the Tau'ri, especially since the passing of Colonel Carter's father. It is our intention to attempt to strengthen this."

*Try being the keyword. Military people don't tend to have good relationships with people unless the military people get what they want, or at least if they get something useful in return, and/or they have the tactical advantage.*

*Shush.*

"However, the Tau'ri is not the topic of this discussion. I have many new children spread across multiple worlds so as to ensure their survival should one planet be discovered and attacked. As such, the Tok'ra, Jaffa, and humans who live on each planet do not know the locations of the other worlds, nor do they know how many there are."

Laran began speaking before the female could, "Do your other children know the address of this world?"

"They do not."

"Do they know of us, of our mission, and our triumphs and failures?"

"I have spoken with them at length about my choice to change my philosophy when I was a young Goa'uld queen, and how I realized it was wrong to take unwilling hosts, and then suppress them for my own benefit. I have told them about our victories, our defeats, and my capture by the Goa'uld System Lord Ra."

Egeria surveyed the people around the table and felt a warm feeling in her chest, knowing they had continued the mission for two millennia after believing she had been killed. Despite many of their brothers and sisters losing their lives for the cause. Her belief that their human hosts had a right to choose, had the right to be able to speak up, and be heard was incredibly important.

"We have infiltrated the ranks of many Goa'uld to keep an eye on their plans and movements. While all the System Lords are dead, there are still many smaller ones who may want to attempt to take over their territories. We have also infiltrated the Lucian Alliance, and other groups we believe may become dangerous, problematic, or perhaps even useful in the future."

She gave Laran full eye contact, "We want to work together toward a common goal, but in order to do so, we must go slow. We must learn of each other's knowledge and information, and we must learn to work together as a cohesive organization."

The meeting went on for hours, and Buffy was honestly bored out of her own mind since she didn't have the option to go and kill something. She couldn't even move since Egeria needed their body to speak to their, her children. but the meeting was finally over and they had been assigned a suite in one of the towers of the Tok'ra city.

It had a beautiful view of the city, but beyond that, there was nothing but sand and dunes.

*I had so been hoping that would've been a lot more interesting than it turned out to be.* Buffy wasn't whining, she wasn't!

Egeria couldn't help but laugh a little. *Yes, it was quite dry at times, but that is the nature of politics. We are queens, even if we do not wish to be treated as such, but they have held us in high regard for many, many years. They did not expect us to not return as soon as we were able. They are hurt, and rightfully so, but in time, they will understand. And we will be here.*

*I know,* Buffy looked around the room. It was made of some kind of crystals. One of the scientists had given a short explanation of how they had found the technology and adapted it for their own needs, as it had not been known the last time Egeria was with them. *It's too bad this planet doesn't have a forest or something for us to go for a run in. If we went over the dunes they would probably panic or something.*

*Probably, but we will find somewhere after we have finished all the meetings for the coming days. Just be patient.*
