Willow watched Dawn run upstairs while Buffy hug up the phone. The sound of a door slamming and the expression on Buffy's face told her everything she needed to know about their latest attempt to reach their father.

“Will?” Tara asked, resting a hand on her shoulder. “You have your resolve face on. Please don't do anything you shouldn't.”

Willow took a deep breath, closed her eyes and slowly released it. “Locater spell,” she said softly. “If you'll help, I'll do a locater spell to find out where that piece of scum is.”

“What will you do once we find him?” Tara asked, still concerned.

“That's what a computer is for,” Willow supplied.

Tara smiled and nodded. They would find Hank Summers and get him there if it was the last thing they did.

Two hours later, Willow blew out frustrated breath. “It's like he's not even on the planet,” she grumbled.

A pained look passed over Tara's face as she realized what else it could mean. She wasn't ready to point out that the lack of results would happen if Hank was gone as well.

“Let me get some water and we'll try one more time,” Willow said, rising from her seat.

Tara closed her eyes and said a quick prayer asking for assistance, asking for help. They were down to two hairs, one from Buffy and one from Dawn. If this didn't work, she would tell Willow what she suspected, especially because they were doing this at the Summers home and Buffy and Dawn would be returning soon.

“OK,” Willow said, taking her seat. “Let's try this one more time.”

What neither girl noticed was the small bit of blood on the root of each hair, a minute drop from both Buffy and Dawn.

Somewhere In New Mexico

Loki landed his robot, a large grin on his face. Finally, his brother, Thor would pay for...

He was distracted by the sense of magic that suddenly flooded the cockpit and began looking around to see if he could pinpoint it.

Summers' home

While Tara and Willow chanted, over the ingredients the air above it began to shimmer. Slowly the shimmering air seemed to create a window, or view screen, which grew larger.

The two kept their chant steady even as their eyes widened in shock. This wasn't supposed to happen, but they feared stopping the spell part way through.

It was just as they were reaching the end of the chant that the door to the house opened. Buffy stepped in, her eyes immediately caught by the image shimmering in the air.

A low growl escaped at the sight.

A moment later, Dawn also spotted the image of their father and let out an enraged shriek.

At the sound of Dawn's shriek, Hank's face turned and seemed to see them. His eyes grew wide in shock.

Before he could react, Buffy was across the room.

She was so overcome with her emotions, that she didn't think before she reached for the image.

To the shock of Willow, Tara and Hank, her arms seemed to enter into the image and grasp her father by the front of his shirt. With one angry, slayer-fueled yank, he came through the portal and landed in the Summers living room, his oldest daughter pinning him to the floor even as tears started flooding her eyes.

The witches had finished the spell just a moment after Hank appeared in the Summers house and the portal disappeared.

“Where were you?” Buffy's tear-filled voice demanded as she lifted her father slightly off the floor and slammed him back down onto it. “You arrogant -” whatever she was going to say next was cut off by a sob and her grip loosened.

It was only a moment later, however, that Dawn came over and kicked her father in the ribs, eliciting a sound of pain. “Mom's dead and you couldn't even return our calls. I hate you!” Dawn screamed before running off to her bedroom.

Carefully, Hank slipped out from under Buffy so he could attain a seated position and then wrapped his arms around her, letting her cry into his shoulder.

His still wide, shocked eyes looked at the equally wide-eyed witches. “Would... would you check on Dawn for me?” he asked

“Of course,” Tara said grabbing Willow's hand and heading toward the stairs. Both young women kept looking over their shoulder at the oddly dressed man holding their weeping friend.

New Mexico

Thor stood, ready to face and defeat his brother in order to protect the people of this town. He called to his brother, “Loki! Brother! You do not wish to do this!”

The robot didn't move and no sound was made.

After several minutes where the robot continued to not move or say anything, Thor exchanged looks with those near him and swung his hammer, rising into the air and directing himself to the head of the robot where the control center would most likely be.

With a swing of Mjolnir, he dented the shell of the machine. It took him five more hits to break through. When he did, he found the control room empty except for the smell of magic, magic that was unfamiliar to him and most definitely not Loki's.

Now he had a new worry. Where had his brother gone and who had him?
