the test begins...... NOW!!
Tonight one of my oldest, dearest pals is getting hitched. i'm kind of preparing myself for it to be a bit of a surreal experience. partly cos my sister talked me into buying/wearing this sixties office dress which will prollystick out like a thumb-that's-been-hammered-good, and may freak out the boy-type (who i hope is smart enough to don a suit) but also. 'cos she's grown up now, right? she's one of my mirrors, i suppose, one of my main-spring provocateurs and change-agents. and now she's jumping over a fence where i can't and don't wanna follow, at least for a good long while. i feel like we'll have different scripts from now on. but i'm also awfully pleased and excited for the girl. she's wearing a kimono. only chantal.
