Second post of the day. Hi flist!
I'm still on my continuous "mini cleaning spree" since it's my day off and all. Plus watching Daidaman and that messy room... -___- HAHA It gave me the urge to continue cleaning up my very messy PC situation. You can say that I'm finally making progress with things.
And since I think I've had this buried here since Valentines day I think it's about time I posted my Elizabethtown flail session.
I can screencap this movie all I want to just to catch the nuances in Orli’s expressions but I don’t want to bore you guys. It’ll just turn into one extreme fangirl moment. Heh
My biases came out with this movie. I loved it because Orlando Bloom was in it PLUS there were no costumes. Don’t get me wrong I LOOOOVE Legolas and Will Turner but yes he needs to step away from the period / epic movies every once in awhile (which reminds me that I have yet to watch Kingdom of Heaven -__-).
Aside from the Orlando prettiness in the movie, the witty dialogue and Kirsten Dunst’s character Claire Colburn held my attention. She was the interesting one. Claire held the story together because Drew Baylor was so straight-laced and caught up in his failure that if it revolved around him alone then this would’ve been quite a bore. They balanced each other out.
It is a story about what happens “when shit hits the fan” as Alec Baldwin’s character Phil said. It is a story of a person who lost the reason for his existence on top of the death of his father, a person he lost in touch with when things started to become busy at work.
But it isn’t as depressing as it sounds. The movie has many comedic moments. But it’s not slapstick nor is it in your face. It’s the sarcastic, ironic kind of humor. You know as the song goes… Alanis Morisette sung it well. Hehe
The dialogue was pretty much what kept me riveted in this quiet, simple story.
I would seriously give anything to be talking to Orlando Bloom all night on the phone like that. XDDD
Here are a bunch of caps I took of the movie
He tried to kill himself.
One of my favorite movie moments ever. Spending all night talking on the phone. How lovely. <3
Let's not forget the meet up that lasted for such a short time. I want that red hat by the way.
With Mitch and that pretty little black dress. I'm a sucker for pretty LBDs.
I'm going to miss your lips. And everything attached to them.
You know, You're always trying to break up with me, and we're not even together.
One of my favorite lines from a movie EVER.
The obligatory family shot.
Road trip with Mitch.
Now wouldn't it be nice to have someone like him looking for you? ^_^
Oh come on what’s not love with lines like this:
Claire: Trust me. Everybody is less mysterious than they think they are.
Claire: I'm impossible to forget, but I'm hard to remember. --I really love this one
Drew: There's a difference between a failure and a fiasco. A failure is merely the absence of success. Any fool can achieve failure. But a fiasco, a fiasco is a disaster of epic proportions. A fiasco is a folk tale told to other's to make other people feel more alive because it didn't happen to them.
Claire: Do you ever just think I'm fooling everybody? --Definitely hits the spot
Claire: Men see things in a box, and women see them in a round room. --So that's why we can't get along XDD
Claire: I think I've been asleep most of my life.
Claire: Don't get lost! --I find another meaning to this or I’m just looking way too into it…
Claire: Most of the sex I've had in my life was not as personal as that kiss. --LOL
Drew: No true fiasco ever began as a quest for mere adequacy. A motto of the British Special Air Force is: 'Those who risk, win.' A single green vine shoot is able to grow through cement. The Pacific Northwestern salmon beats itself bloody on it's quest to travel hundreds of miles upstream against the current, with a single purpose, sex of course, but also... life
Claire: I've spent so much time thinking about all the answers to the problem, that I forget what the problem actually was.
Claire: Sadness is easier because its surrender.
Claire: So you failed. Alright you really failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You think I care about that? I do understand. You wanna be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make them wonder why you're still smiling. --I love this one.
Hollie: All forward motion counts.
I actually have the links to the movie up if anyone wants them.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DQSSLX0E I creep myself out because when I think of a person I think I haven't heard from in awhile I suddenly receive word from them. Creepy. And right now I'm obsessed with Jane Eyre. I did not read this for any high school or college requirement so that might be why I'm thoroughly enjoying reading it right now. And I got the book for 30 pesos which is less than $1. I love bargain hunting for books.
