Now to those not privy to my Japanese Pop obsession,
1992*4##111 is a song by
my favorite man from sushi land aka Japan.
Those are not just random numbers and symbols by the way, apparently, when you type 1992*4##111 into an AU phone (I was told it only works on phones made by that Jap. company) you'd get the word ありがとう (Arigatou) which as we all know is "Thank you" in English.
Okay apparently that isn't what this means. Anyway...
Every year, I feel so much gratitude as I enter the "new year" of my life. This year is definitely no exception. 2009-2010 was a big transition year for me. I went from being a student, to a bum, to an intern, to an official part of the working force with one of the best jobs I could ask for. I have so many reasons to feel grateful and that fills me with so much hope for 2010-2011.
Call me an incurable optimist (I really do need that Michael J. Fox book) but I'm happy to be one for as long as I live. I never heard of anyone dying because of too much optimism.
I made tons of new friends (those I share the insane fangirl ways and those I met through work), kept in touch with those that matter to me, learned too many lessons that brought me to tears while unwittingly making me stronger in the process, and mostly importantly, I lived in the way I wanted to.
And for all of that I thank YOU. Yes YOU reading this right now. Because you let me be who I am. I got called "quirky" today and I take that as the biggest compliment ever. Thank you for letting this quirky, crazy me be a part of your world.
