[FANGIRL ENCOUNTERS] The FTI Experience: Part 1

Mar 28, 2010 18:22

I've delayed this long enough... work, my laziness, and other preoccupations kept me from sitting down and finally writing my experience at the F.T Island concert here last March 6.

Where do I start? I guess it would be logical to go chronological a bit.

Pre-Concert

Apa (apatots) and I met up pretty early that day to supposedly make banners for Seunghyun (for Apa) and Jonghoon (for me). As I mentioned a few entries back, we ended up watching the 2PM + 2AM (ONE DAY) episode of Idol Army, the three Gayo Daejuns, and some other random stuff.

And let it be said that on the day we were supposed to be on an FTI high. We were on a 2PM one. I baited Apa into the PM fandom and she is a Chanbear (Chansung) fan. heee~

We dashed off from my home around 3 in the afternoon because we were hoping con goods were already set up. I think I've read too many JE concert accounts that I've started to become paranoid and thought there would be a tremendous line for that. But we got there past four and they weren't even letting people into PICC (the concert hall) yet.

It felt surreal for Apa and I to be back at PICC because the concert hall was where we graduated nearly a year ago.

As I was saying, we decided to grab a quick bite first and by the time we got back they were finally letting people in around 5:30 and to our dismay there really wasn't much in the concert goods department. Well those that we wanted anyway...

They did have the official FT Island pentastick (the flag thing) but I was being a cheapskate and didn't get it. It was around 450 pesos ($9) and the working girl in me thought about the practicalities that con good violated. I did want a t-shirt though which they unfortunately did not have. So we were banner and con good less that day.

It was said on the ticket that the show starts at 6PM which unfortunately was not the case. I think we were finally let in at around 6:30. Being in a sea of yellow was fun and all but standing for an hour doing nothing wasn't.

Okay there was random 2PM Heartbeat dancing and a quick flail over Jaejin and Seunghyun singing Lee Seunggi's 'Will You Marry Me' on MNet Countdown, plus we tried to squeeze in some FTIsland song listening to pump us up even further while in line. Not that we needed it mind you. We were both beyond stoked.

The funny thing that happened while we were waiting to be let in was when the ushers decided to part the four lines into two groups. They split us up at the middle with two lines on the left and two on the right. Fangirls then started to assume that the boys were going to walk by us there. Everyone around us got excited and since we were in the inner left side, people were suddenly pushing forward to look who was coming through the entrance.

It seriously was a bad idea to do that. People became even crazier. They then pushed off those on the right sides near us again and freed up the right side of the hallway. They were actually just letting in special guests, by the way.

That was probably the biggest fail of the night. Gave us a good laugh though. Especially when these group of guys - I forgot if they were Koreans or just a group of Pinoy boys who tried to copy the Korean style - walked by and the girls around us just kept cheering for the heck of it as if they were seeing the boys. Everyone was like "WOOOHOOO" and taking videos of them. It was hilarious!

The excitement was carried over when we got into the hall. They were showing this clip of Barae over and over again and every single batch of fangirls who entered the venue kept squealing over it. That ended though when we all got to our seats...

Because I don't want to burden you with one ridiculously long entry. I'll start working on the second part another time with the few pictures Apa and I took using her camera. Middle to low quality though but still some precious, gorgeous shots and I'd talk about the highlights from my perspective, since by this time the FTI fans have probably read all sorts of accounts on the concert.
