so i thought my laptop's plug was broken and i hadn't been using it so much for like three months... but apparently the plug was just not plugged in correctly, it has a little box thing in the middle and it had been unplugging a little til it finally unplugged all the way and i realized what had happened.

wow... i feel smart... yes i do have a masters degree... hey at least it's not in electrical engineering, obviously!
