go me!

So my Experimental Forms professor pulled me aside before class Monday night and told me that a) he was keeping my midterm project for a little while longer because b) he thought it was amazing and was showing it to someone else.

Buh.

For context, this professor has read nearly every book ever and writes very well himself and is not a talkative or evocative person, really. But there is a brain at work there, and when he's sufficiently riled up he can explain, with both critical accuracy and genuine enthusiasm, why he likes something, and it will be impossible to dispute. He's one of those kinda guys.

I wish I knew what exactly he liked so much about my project (which, by the way, was about a steampunk carnival sideshow full of lobotomized freaks and included poetry, prose, and graphic elements). I mean, I liked doing it and worked very hard on it, but if it was in front of me I could point out maybe 100 things I would change about it. I guess I'll find out when he returns it. Man. Good times. And to think I was all bummed because I read over some of my college writing efforts and rediscovered how bad I was then. Jesus creeping god, did I suck.

Needless to say, that snapped me out of my funk. Hopefully work this week won't snap me right back into it.
