so far so good
ah, so my new year was pretty uneventful. My grandmother wanted my company, and how could i say no knowing she would otherwise be spending new years alone? We made snacks, had some sparkling cider, watched the ball drop and went immediately to bed. But it was nice to spend time with my gram and she was so excited to have me over. I miss spending so much time with her like i did when i was little.
The rest of my friends had a fun new years tho. Bob and Rick went up to my bro's and had a great time, i'm kinda jealous i missed it. I haven't got to spend new years with bob for the second year in a row. :( And thats just not right. I had to miss the pirate's party too. Which really pissed me off because i haven't been able to see those guys in MONTHS!
Amy and Lisa threw a party too. They were texting me all night trying to get me out. I was hoping Tom would head down to their party but turned out he just sat at home and fell asleep before midnight. :(
But, in good news i finally get to relax for a bit. Last week and monday both of the women i work with were on vacation or covering for other people in a different part of the building who were on vacation. Leaving me to do 3 people's worth of work a day. This made me pretty bitter since the horrible old hag (yes, she has earned this title) i work with on first shift refuses to help anyone but her self. so when i go on vacation she wont touch any of my work. She actually try to mess it up to make it more difficult for me. so when i return i not only have many day's worth of work to catch up on, but a mess as well! I can't say much more for the other woman i work with. I get along with her, but shes painfully lazy. I do most of her job for her on a daily basis anyway. She'll try to sort out my work a little while i'm on vacation.....ANYWHO! so yes, both gone, and me stuck with all their work. And with me being stubborn and prideful i got it done. EVERY FREAKING DAY I GOT ALL THE WORK DONE! I even worked on fixing up the cage for the new year! And on the last day of this, new years eve, i had extra work. everyone came in on sunday so they didn't have to work new years eve. except my shift had to come in on new years eve, just early. so i had TWO DAYS of everyone's work to do. And i got it done. I stayed an hour and a half extra to do it, but i got it done. There was no way in hell i was going to leave work for me to catch up on in the new year. I wanted that whole mess done and over with along with 2007. I hope this shines well on me when my job starts to get phased out and i'm looking for a promotion in the company. Tho, the management here has a habit of not noticing effort or work.
But now everyone else is back. I'm relaxing and doing my job at a comfortable pace. I took down all the christmas decorations (ah! this cage is so drab without them!!!!!). I took everything off my desk and cleaned it and the computer. And my desk is looking and smelling very nice because I have two bouquets of flowers on my desk. One is neon pink,purple,green,and yellowed dyed daisies i brought in to remind me to stay happy during last week and another is one that a friend sent to me to try to cheer me up. lol, there is so little room the place looks like a garden!
hm...so far 2008 isn't so far. I already have people starting shit with me, but thats no big change. I still have a job. I still have wonderful friends. And I still have an amazing man who loves me. So far so good.
