So last night I posted about writing in my two characters into my story I've been writing. Here's the general details...

Yes, it is a Mario fanfiction. And no, they are nothing like me and a certain someone. Okay, so they are. Deal with it.

Hope

Age: 15
Hair Color: Dark red with a purple streak on her left side
Hair Style: A little past her shoulders, straight, usually in a ponytail
Eyes: Green, though she's been known to sport gold contact lenses
Reputation: Leader and strategist of "The Twin Team"
Nickname: The devious planner
Personality: Hope is a gamer girl who is known as a member of The Twin Team, a co-op video game team made up of her and her boyfriend Chance. She's the firebrand, known for her biting sarcasm and quick thinking. She is prone to act out a little more forcefully than Chance. She is highly protective of her boyfriend and has been suspended more than once for fighting in his defense.

Chance

Age: 15
Hair Color: Dark brown with a silver streak on one side and dark blue on the other
Hair Style: Messy, slightly longer than shoulder length
Eyes: Blue, though he occasionally wears silver contacts
Reputation: Secondary and activist of "The Twin Team"
Nickname: The main gamer
Personality: Chance is a gamer who is known as a member of The Twin Team. Though he was the "creator" of the team, he allowed his girlfriend Hope to maintain leadership, on the grounds that she was better equipped. He's known as a bit of an eccentric sort, known for cracking jokes and blaring his rock music loudly wherever he goes. He is known to rebel from time to time, but only at his girlfriend's whim. He shows protective tendencies towards Hope, but has a difficult time protecting himself from trouble.

The Twin Team

The Twin Team is a legend about the campus; a boyfriend/girlfriend team of two very talented gamers. They earned the reputation as The Twin Team for their amazing co-op abilities in team gaming, in which both players must act at the same time in order for their desired motion to be acquired. They are unbeatable in all campus gaming societies, and the two members, Chance and Hope, are often considered to be celebrities amongst gamers... not only for their gifts in gaming, but for the fact they are the youngest team in the campus division.

It was a little odd to be in the Student Center's makeshift "gaming division" when they weren't members of the organization. They were getting all kinds of ugly glances from the gamers. Apparently, this league knew who belonged and who didn't, and boy, they didn't.

"Hey," Luigi finally got the courage to tap someone on the shoulders. He was met with a glare and took a slight step back.

"What?" The irate gamer asked, not removing his eyes from the screen.

"I need to find, um..." He had to think. "The Twin Team. I need their assistance with something."

"Ha. You'll never get so close as five feet to those kids. They're legends amongst us, and have a major entourage at all times."

"Forget it," Luigi sighed. "I'll do it myself."

He wandered until he found a team game in process. He put his hands in his pockets, tried to look casual, and wandered over. He saw a team of two black-clad boys who looked like they were struggling, and then another team who seemed to be moving fluidly. Was that... a girl?

"Make the switch," the girl announced to her partner, and they easily swapped positions. They were playing a virtual reality game by which their actions controlled their screen. Without a second glance, her partner moved their characters about while she tripped up the opponents.

"Check behind you," the partner, a male, instructed.

"I see it."

"Want to go for trick three?" He was leaned back now, trying to stop the characters from hitting what looked like a mine.

"Why not?"

They switched, then again, then once more. It distracted the other team, while giving them some extra items. Luigi was confused, having no clue what was happening. The male partner was the one throwing the items now, and had incredible accuracy. The female leaned forcefully to the left, and her partner quickly followed suit while beating his right foot twice on the platform. They slid through the turn fluidly, missing another mine.

"Oh, it's a racing game," Luigi finally noticed.

She hooked another sharp turn left, and the line was crossed. They were at least ten seconds ahead of second place. Luigi decided to approach.

"Hi," he said awkwardly.

The girl smiled slightly while the boy seemed to scowl a little. "Can we help you?" The female asked.

"Maybe. I'm looking for a group called The Twin Team. Maybe you know 'em?"

"Know 'em?" The boy scoffed as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"We'll give you something better than that," the girl smiled. "We are The Twin Team."

Luigi blinked, seeming to be in disbelief. "What? A girl?"

"Not just any girl," the boy said. "My girlfriend."

"Defensive aren'tcha?" Luigi mocked.

"He is," the girlfriend nodded. "I'm Hope, and my boyfriend is Chance. We're the youngest team in the division, but the best."

"Apparently you don't know anything," Chance spoke under his breath.

Luigi let the comment slide. "Well, that makes my search a lot easier. Look. My... um... friend, has entered into a video game contest, but he has no clue what he's doing. It's for a large wager, and we can't afford to lose."

Hope smirked. Even Chance seemed interested. Outside of their gaming escapades, the two were known for sneaking around campus, sniffing out conspiracies. They were often credited as eccentric.

"What's the wager?" Chance asked, folding his arms across his chest.

"I'll tell you later," Luigi explained. "Just know it's important. So will you?"

The couple looked at each other for a moment, then nodded to each other before turning back to their newly made friend.

"Congratulations," Hope said. "You have just enlisted the help of The Twin Team."
