Okay, so here's a real update.
I had my surgery on Thursday. I've been in a lot of pain since then. The first night, I was absolutely miserable. I was cold and started shivering, which was hurting... anytime I contract my abdominal muscles, it hurts. So I tried to get the blanket, and I couldn't because it hurt too much to reach for it. So I started crying because of the pain and frustration, which woke Josh up, and crying hurt REALLY bad. I tried to make myself stop crying, but usually when I do that, I take deep breaths, but I couldn't because it hurt too much. So I kind of just had to hold my breath. God that night sucked.
Yesterday I called and said the Norco was not giving me enough pain relief, so they called in Darvocet. It works better. I finally got to take a shower today. I walk around like a little old lady, hunched over and everything. Getting in and out of bed is the worst. There is only one position I can lie in, and that's on my left side, curled up. Every other way hurts. And I look like I'm about 4-5 months pregnant... they puffed me up with CO2 when they did the surgery and it hasn't gone away yet. It's really uncomfortable. Oh man, and last night I started feeling really panicky and I didn't know what to do. I couldn't take deep breaths to calm me down, which made me flip out even more. So I chewed up a Xanax (to make it hit my bloodstream faster) and basically just passed out. So now I know, Darvocet + Xanax = sleep. Haha.
The surgeon said he was going to put the big camera through an incision in my belly button. So I thought, cool, I won't have a noticeable scar there. Well when I took off the gauze pad things today to reveal the stitches and medical tape, I saw that there is an incision in my belly button AND another one about a half inch under it. I am pissed. I can't help but wonder... did they screw up the belly button thing and have to make a new incision or what? Now I'm going to have an ugly scar there. I actually can't even tell how big all my scars are going to be yet since the tape is still covering the stitches. I'm hoping they're not bad, but who knows.
Anyway. I'm really glad I have something to think about endlessly (wedding) because if I didn't, I'd probably be going stir crazy. I pretty much only spend time in bed and on the computer. I'm thankful that sitting is comfortable.
