Progress Report:
1. Be more meticulous with finances - Still sucking at this. Joined mint.com, but there's no way to tell mint.com that I get reimbursed for everything I buy for school. Also, cannot seem to explain to mint.com that, with an hour commute, sometimes you're just gonna go over your gas & fuel budget. Brian has a slightly less automated system, where I can actually track the money I'm really spending for the sake of spending. Am hoping this system is more efficient and less stressful.
2. Exercise 4 times/week - Still sucking at this as well. Taking MAJOR steps in the right direction, though. I've been eating more normally, which makes me feel good. Brian got me into skiing, and the two of us are trying to schedule date night that's more mobile than just watching a movie. I'm also re-doing the basement to turn it into my own personal Wellness Center. Hopefully when it's cute down there and I'm not tripping over stuff all the time, I'll naturally want to mellow out down there more often. We'll see if it helps.
3. Grade papers within 2 days of collecting them - Again, major sucking at life. I've started being more aware of paper grading, and have forced myself to believe that I don't actually hate grading, which somehow helps.
4. Become proficient in French - was doing REALLY well, and then got busy with other things and it hasn't happened in a while. Now sucking at that as well.
I'm actually not discouraged at all. My whole life, I've set resolutions, and then given up when I hadn't completely mastered everything in, like, 2 weeks. As I get older, it's easier to see that change is a very difficult process. I feel confident that I will get better at all of my resolutions. Also, there have been some very, very major bumps in the road, so it's taken me a long time to feel like my feet are back on the ground. I'm hoping this will make life a little easier.
