A quick bonjour

Jun 26, 2009 14:22

Brian and I are officially moved in. The kitchen is 90% painted, his giant man-furniture has been shoved through the doorway, and my office is unpacked. There is every kind of art all over the house, and the mattress currently lives on the floor...beside the pieces of bedframe. Aside from being utterly exhausted, we are happy :D

I'm currently in NY, where I will be living for the summer. Living in 3 places is chaos. My mother was heinously offended that I forgot to bring my toothbrush to NY. Frankly, I think it's a miracle that I managed to show up on the right day, and with a summer wardrobe instead of a winter one. No complaints here. I had my first staff meeting of the season last night, which I feel pretty good about. There are A LOT of new regulations and crap, but I trust myself and I am at least twice as confident in my own abilities as I was last year, so (knocking on wood), I have a decent summer ahead of me. I'm going to miss Brian LIKE CRAZY, but he'll be in Seattle for work prettymuch the entire time I'll be here, so at least I don't feel like I'm running out on him. September's gonna be sweet :D

On my way to a mini family reunion. The Zuhoski family is reproducing like it's their job. The cousins in my generation have produced a total of 7 (or 8?) kids in the past 7 or 8 years. My mom and crazy aunt are starting to put the "so when are you marrying Brian and giving us some more babies?" nagging into high gear. My uncle (the husband of aforementioned crazy aunt) laughs hard and re-welcomes me to the family. Oy.

I'll be back in MD for my last hurrah on Monday. If you want to see me, next week is your last chance. Call early :D

Love.
