I HANDED IN MY THESIS!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I'm actually really proud of the way it turned out. I should hear back from Dr. Travers in the next few days, and if she doesn't have any major complaints, then I only have one major project left for UMD! Woohoo! Once I get her feedback, I'll open it up to outsiders' view, if you have an hour and secretly totally care about teacher immediacy.
Also, the inch of water that had accumulated in the driver's side of my car during monsoon season last month has officially dried out. That means that not only can you now drive my car with shoes on and not get the heel all soaked, but also it doesn't smell like a swamp when you open the door. I'm tellin' you, it's the little things in life that make you realize your standards are appropriately low...
This weekend was amazing. Brian and I hung out and were social. In the scheme of things, we didn't even do anything all that amazing, but just being able to enjoy the weather and being with him without having constant guilt trips and/or stress attacks was perfect. Also, we partied with his friends in St. Mary's County, and most of them are pretty a-okay. So that makes me really happy. I look forward to spending a lot more time with them now that I actually have some free time...
This week is going to be awesome. Today I teach, tonight I finish up the majority of my FL portfolio (the final project! eeee). Tomorrow I tie up loose ends, etc., and take the day to get solidly on track. Thursday I help run Field Day at school. Friday I drive home to babysit Kelly's kids! This will be fun because a) I miss NY, b) road trips are always a good time, and c) she pays me ridiculously well, and I'm super in debt with my mom. Whoops. Grad school. Go figure.
After this weekend I should be around a LOT more. I started my Capstone class (M and W nights), which is totally laid back, and pretty interesting so far. Other than that, though, I have very few lesson plans to make for the year (woohoooo!), and my workload has decreased considerably. In other words, I am much more the shiny happy person I'm pretty sure I was in, like, sophomore year. Sooo pick a night and hang out with me.
Hooray!
