Goodbye 2015, I'll Miss You

Dec 31, 2015 18:01

People are posting their end of year reflections, and I don't even know where to begin. This year has been extremely eventful for me, and I'll always remember it as the year I finally stood up and made things happen.

I quit my job
I started a freelance business
I signed up for (and completed) a roller derby 101 course
I worked at a couple of geek conventions
I travelled
I met a lot of amazing people
I decided to apply for a working holiday visa in 2016

My life feels completely different from the life I had at the start of 2015. I think everyone around me can see that I've changed, for the better.

People tend to say "I needed to get out of my comfort zone!" when they talk about big life altering changes, for me it's the exact opposite. I've never really felt comfortable anywhere. My old job stressed me out so much, I never found time to truly relax or learn new skills. It was time to get out of there and get comfortable. It's still a work in progress, but I've learnt so much this year! Life is amazing for me right now, and I'm excited to see where it'll take me. I can't remember the last time I felt like this.

I'll end my final post of 2015 with a collection of some of my favourite pictures from my Tokyo adventures this summer. I never got around to posting any of them, so here they are.

Happy New Year! Thank you for sticking with me, I hope we'll continue to keep in touch in 2016.
