I swear, I was telling myself I'd remember to do daily little updates about other things than derby, but time keeps getting away from me.
Here's a picture from Saturday's practice. We had our very first taste of actual roller derby. We ended the practice with 5 bouts of play. I am sure we all looked super adorable.
This picture also perfectly demonstrates why you should never put your hand up in a group picture, my face! Lol. I am the hidden jammer. I ... barely managed to escape the pack during my initial pass, and I'm afraid I didn't do much better as a blocker, but it was fuuuuun!
Jotting down so I won't forget; I managed 24 laps for the 27 in 5 challenge. 3 LAPS TO GO. Eeeeehehehehhe damn.
This was also the LAST DERBY 101 PRACTICE! I am sure you'll all be very relieved. I'm a little sad. And stressed about what's going to happen next. I have league practice on Tuesday, and then Sunday is the minimum skills test. I pretty much know I won't pass absolutely everything, but I hope I'll do well enough to be invited to join the club and league practices, and then re-test whatever I fail at a later time ... as opposed to having to take the whole 101 course all over again. We'll see on Sunday!
