Today's questions courtesy of NIGHT_OWL_9

1. What do you think of remakes of older franchises?
Meh, they can be very hit or miss - I would prefer people leaving originals alone. We need new creative content - not the same stuff in new packaging.
I can't really think of a lot of examples at the moment, but I am sure you guys can help me out. I feel the question is a little limited, remakes of franchises?
I guess the most obvious examples are all the reboots, like Batman, James Bond, Star Trek, did they reboot Spiderman already? And I guess the X-Men First Class stuff counts as a reboot as well? Or is that a prequel ...? The only example I can think of at the moment of a remake is Battlestar Galactica. I've never seen the original, but I did enjoy the remake. I never watched the last season, though.

I actually have very strong feelings about the Star Trek reboot, even though I haven't seen the latest one yet. I plan to, and I will probably enjoy it as an action packed sci-fi flick, but I will not enjoy it as a Star Trek film.

The Star Trek reboot might be shiny and sleek, but they have taken out all the bits that made Star Trek Star Trek, and it really fucking annoys me. Wil Wheaton had a feeldump about it here which expresses what it is I'm trying to say. Of course JJ Abrams went on in that interview to explain that he came to love Star Trek as an adult, but still. I feel like the reboot has taken out the philosophical aspect and replaced it with battles and exciting action sequences. A terrible substitute - at least in my opinion.

The original series of Star Trek is a complete feast for all senses - I love it dearly. I have recently been introduced to Next Generation as well, and it is a lot more fun and exciting than I remembered it. STAR TREK ♥

So yeah, my opinion on remakes/reboots greatly depend on the end result. What the creators want to achieve with their reboots and how they use the original material.

2. When did you last laugh your butt off?
Earlier this evening, hanging out and playing Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers.

3. Chinese Food or Pizza and why?
The "Chinese food" you get in Norway is ... I don't even know what it is, it is baby corn and bits of pork drowned in sweet and sour sauce, it is terrible. I am sure we have decent Chinese restaurants as well, but you need to somehow seek them out. So pizza. Pizza all the way.

4. What did you think of the latest movie you saw?
The latest film I saw was The Maltese Falcon. I have somehow always fallen asleep watching this previously, I have no idea how that is even possible because oh my god - this film is amazing! So funny and engaging. I laughed a lot :D Great, great, great memorable characters. I'm definitely going to look into adding this to my blu-ray collection at some point. I think Cinemateket is screening this either this month or the next, I'm going to have to go experience it on the big screen! Aaaah. If you haven't seen it, I warmly recommend it!

5. What's your favorite kind of napping weather?
You need a certain type of weather for napping? :O I guess I do usually nap during the summer. That lazy summer heat ♥

6. How would you choose to spend a sudden windfall of money (inheritance, winning the lottery, etc)?
Move to Japan and spend all my time at Disneyland :|

I wish I was joking, but nope. That's what I'd do.

7. Who would you most like to kiss on the cheek?
CHRISTOPH WALTZ.

That's just going to be my pick for all of these type of questions from now on. You are welcome.
